Early on in the planning we decided to do a mixed cd for our guest favors. It’s always been a thing with us to make mixed cds for different events in our life together like road trips, etc. It sounded simple enough and then I got started:
It took about 12 hours of constant burning to burn 150 cds. Then I made a custom cd pocket for each cd to go in. These had to be printed out, then the template had to be cut out, then they each had to be assembled. I still have to put the labels on each cd and put the cds into the pockets.
When all is said and done I will have spent about 30 hours on these things. I had no idea it was going to take this long…In the end they look great but was it worth all the work?
Do you have a DIY project that has taken waaaay longer than you originally thought?

Definitely!!! I am doing a slideshow for our invitations. What I thought was going to take a week to do, has now boiled over to 2 almost 3 weeks. It takes about 45 min each dvd!!! When this is all over, I can’t wait to gt rid of them. I almost can’t stand looking at them.

Vfoster03: I’m in the same boat as you. I can’t wait until I can just put these in the done pile and FORGET about them. Below is the cover art for the paper pocket they’ll go in.

Our save-the-dates took around 40 hours to print, assemble, and assemble for mailing. Not to mention the designing… and redesigning. I’m a graphic designer and can play around in photoshop and indesign for HOURS and not realize it lol. Ugh, they took way longer than expected but I definitely love the end result (as did our guests ha)!
