Well, is dinner this coming up friday?  Or the friday before your wedding?  If it’s just a get together dinner waaay before you wedding, I don’t think it’s rude to not invite the other side of the family.  If it’s dinner before you wedding (rehearsal) then def, you need to have all the family members there!

My bad, I just re read your title.  I think FI’s parents (including the new wife) need to be invited.

I didn’t quiet understand your last post but if your FStepMIL has now decided to include everyone and your FMIL decides not to attend, don’t let her jealousy stop you from going.  My MIL decided not to attend our rehearsal dinner for various childish reasons…don’t let your FMIL issues stop you from enjoying yourselves.

I think all sets of parents and immediate family needs to be invited. If they get invited and don’t go, that is there problem, but the invite needs to be there.

I think you’re going to make a lot of drama excluding family. In your case, it might be easier to include people to keep from stirring things up the night before you are married!

yeah… talk with her a bit more and tell her that’s very tacky to exclude immediate family members

I would definitely make sure that they get invited. If they tell you they don’t want to go for childish reasons then I would try to remind them that the whole reason the dinner is happening is to celebrate the upcoming marriage and they should be able to put aside their differences and act politely and like adults for your sake. I think if you remind them the meaning behind everything they might respond better.
