I’ve been meaning to share some pictures of the nearly finished nursery for some time now, but it seems that we’re always “almost” done but not quite there. If you remember, we’ve done a “pond” theme.
We still have a few things to do including replace the red flowers in the wall mural with pink ones… It’s going to be a while until I have pink flowers in hand, so I’m biting the bullet and showing you now!
Crib area: Crib on sale at JC Penny. Wall mural from Etsy (they sent red flowers, but it was supposed to be pink so new ones are in the mail). The mobile is fishies and she will sit and watch and talk to the fishies for HOURS! Fishies were gifted from an avid flyfisherman. The two blankets in front were bargains from Amazon.com, and the one on the side rail (can barely see it) is exquisitely made by a dear, dear friend.
The changing area: We tried to make it a happy spot with entertaining pictures. The Bee is from Etsy (Snooterdoots). I got the Bee long before we were even married. The pictures are Wee Gallery baby art cards. We learned all the ASL signs for all the animals too, so every time we look at them we sign and say their names 🙂
The dresser was my dresser when I was a baby. We used it for both my sisters and I, so it’s kind of trashed, but it’s so precious because it has all kinds of girl graffiti in the drawers (like initials DGsister+XY forever). We still need to finish replacing all the pulls. You can see the new ones on the top drawer. We have all the books we read to her frequently there, plus two dolls that represent me and one of my best friends. The poster above the dresser is what we based the theme on.
We found the rug on Orvis.com and the chair is an oldie Ikea Poang chair that I got many years ago. Baby hates rocking chairs, but she’ll tolerate this.
We decided to forgo a comforter since they only come in packages with other stuff we didn’t want and since she can’t sleep with it anyway.
We also painted the closet green, but it’s too messy right this second to show it to you… So we’ll save that for a later date. We always tell her it’s where the frogs live 🙂
