That's right, ladies and gentlemen. LOST will return in less than a week. Who else is as freakin pumped as I am? The lack of Sawyer in my life has been almost too much to bear. I have a Sawyer addiction (especially in his shirtless form).

Anyone feel like nerding out on LOST theories? Cause I do. Just rewatched this past season and I'm dying to figure out why Sun and Ben didn't go back in time with the rest of them. Also, I need to know WTF happened to Claire. Apparently she will be back this season (in some form or another). Actress Emilie De Ravin has been quoted as saying that she had to read the script for the first (I think) episode three times before she understood it! Ack. I can't wait.

omg omg omg omg omg omg.

    Can't wait =].

But i'm behind by 3 CD's on the last season so I will SLOWLY be catching up.

Is it bad that I partially LOVE the theories b/c they appeal to engineery sciencey side? I feel so smart when I recognize a theory/name/something and DH is like "you are a toolbag"

    It's getting intense. Love it!

OMG you need to get caught up. FI and I powered through the season in like two days after having watched it on TV last season. You always need to refresh your memory with LOSt because I kept watching stuff and being like OH RIGHT, that crazy s**t happened.

Me neither! I hear you on the shirtless Sawyer! I have one theory, but I really hope it's wrong...I think that Juliet's detonation of the nuclear bomb will "reset" time, undo everything that has happened up to the plane crash, and then the plane will land in LA like it was supposed to with none of the passengers remembering the crash, life on the island, etc. I think it's predictable and I have faith that the writers would not be so obvious...but still, I hope the series end will be better than that. Oh and the Sun/Ben/Lapidus not time-traveling confuses the hell out of me too!

I get to work a half day on Friday b/c i'm flying to the UK Saturday, so DH said I *must* finish them all Friday.

    I will get there!

There is WAY too much crazy shit in that show! It is really hard to go all that tme between seasons. OR has a husband with a freakish memory cuz he just explains it all!

    I am VERY excited!

It is one of 2 shows on TV than I hands down HAVE to watch.

I was wondering about Claire as well.. that's always been in the back of my mind ever since she dissappeared.

As far as theories go, I have no clue. The title of the show says it all, I just know I love it.

    LOL @ Mr. Bee.

@allisonc - It's all good. Mr. Bee in his infinite wisdom added a spoiler alert to the thread title so we're all good to theorize. I got so excited about LOSTing out I forgot to include a spoiler alert.

I really hope the writers don't pull some sort of cop-out. I mean, if they did it the right way, I would be fine with the plane landing in L.A. and everything being as it was supposed to, but it would have to be the kind of thing that ended the series and they would have to figure out some awesome way to have that happen. There's so much build up and the fans are so obsessed I think the writers know that if they do something stupid people are going to like find out where they live and kidnap their children for another season.

I agree, that would be a cop-out! I am trying to have faith in the writers though :)

I like when ABC re-airs episodes with a commentary at the bottom of the screen. It explains so many things that I don't pick up on myself. Last night they had on the season finale - I completely didn't realize that Jacob needed to touch the survivors pre-flight.

There are definitely so many sub plots. i generally only watch each episode once, when it airs. Luckily there are Lost recap sites and wikipedia to help remember everything.

Oooooooooooooooooooohhhh--Can I play? Lost is my favoritest of favorites.

I know I'm technically a "vendor," but this is the nicest online forum I've ever seen, and I WISH I'd had it when I was wedding planning. Oh, and now I want to redo my wedding after everything I've seen here. Does that count for anything?

Because I've got some serious theories.

@aliciarenee - this is a non-wedding related post so feel free to nerd out!

@ETwedding - I didn't watch the episodes they reaired and I totally forgot about the commentary. The Jacob touching them before they got on the plane explains a lot. Damn!

Does anyone know if I can get the episode commentary somewhere?

First, I have to say that I feel like I'm being some sort of pervy uncle up to no good when I read threads. Honestly, though, I really like it here and think this is just a fantastic board.

    My theory:

Jacob is the biblical Jacob. The island is Jacob's Ladder. The guy in black / Jacob's enemy is Esau.

    Stay with me.

Jacob knew that Esau would eventually kill him, so Jacob sought out the folks he knew could help protect him (the Oceanic 815 survivors) and/or the island (and/or the island's fate). If the island is Jacob's Ladder, then the fate of the world would also need a little protecting.

The writers are insanely smart, and there's been a negotiated end to the series (meaning, it won't go all X-Files, lingering, jumping shark after shark until no one's quite sure how to wrap it up). I really don't foresee a cop-out.

Links go to Wikipedia (for better or for worse) for details.

Thank God for this thread! I <3 LOST!!

I also have missed out on the extra commentary on re-aired episodes.  Do the DVD's have the commentary? Cause that is something I'd love to see!  Anyone know?

OMG I'M SO AMAZED this thread exists!! yay!!

@alicia photography - I see where you're going...and i'm not one to contest it!! I just wish I felt as assured about how the season will wrap up.  JJ Abrams? Finish something in a clear and difinitively completed way? Uhmmm no. Not so much.

I just hope the last (tear!) season is evoking and in the end settles the viewers with SOME answers...'cause you know we won't get them all.

Holy smokes, I am so freaking excited for LOST. My friend is planning on having a lost party - we did it for the season premere last year and dressed up as characters from the show! She also printed out Dharma symbols and put them on doors in her apartment, and she printed off Dharma labels and put them on the snacks. She even relabelled chocolate bars to be "Apollo Chocolate". It was awesome!

@okqueenbee - It's OK not to be as much of a LOST nerd as some of us. As long as you like the show and appreciate Sawyer without a shirt on, you are welcome here!

    Also, everyone needs this:

We recently switched from Time Warner to FIOS for cable, and Mr T ASSURED me I'd be able to program our DVR from my office if I thought I wouldn't make it home in time tonight.  Now he's going out after work (doesn't watch Lost, the loser!!), it's looking like I'll be stuck here till late...and I can't figure out how to log into our account!!

I AM SO PUMPED TOO!!!! I love the biblical theories more than the science fiction... I just think it seems more realistic and eerie! Time will tell... I definitely need a recap before tonight!!!

FI started watching 2 years ago and never recapped all the other episodes so it's kinda annoying watching with him cause he asked a BAZILLION questions!!! I try to explain there is NO speaking during LOST-- you could easily miss something!!

We should all come on after and debreif... yeah I know.. geek alert.

I'm so happy LOST is back :)  I've been a die-hard fan since the beginning (seriously - I used to track all the references to the NUMBERS - sick).  As much as I love the show though, I'm glad they're going to tie it up with a nice bow rather than it just getting cancelled.

@alicia: read your biblical post above. I think you are on to something....and because I am nerdy I am going to forward that to my sister who has a ton of Lost theories but isn't on the 'bee :)

I am just relieved that we saw everyone after they got off the plane in LAX, ie we know the story continues even if the plane crash is "undone"

SO glad it is back.  I have so many questions after last night but can't wait for the rest of the season.

I always like reading Lost in the Vines after the show: http://lostinthevines.newsvine.com/

Here is the specific post on last night with a full recap and then theories, questions and observations in the comments.  Steven Watts does a really good job with it.  His comment isn't first one it's a few down.

    http://stevencwatts.newsvine.com/_news/2010/02/02/3844378-lost-a-glimpse-at-what-couldve-been-in-la-x

Any predictions for the season?  I am so curious how they are going to resolve all these timelines.

    Here's my prediction:

Do you guys remember the red headed chick from last season?  The one Daniel Faraday was in love with?  Right before she died she said something along the lines of "I'm not allowed to have chocolate before dinner" sounding as though she were a little girl once again.  Right before Juliette dies she says something to Sawyer about how she can't wait till they meet for coffe or she'll see him at coffee or something like that so I'm thinking that what will happen is that each person will die off and as they die off they will mumble something like that and what will actually be happening is that their leaving their life on the island to continue their "other" life.   That's my prediction so far but you guys know LOST and I'm sure it will twist and turn and totally confuse the hell outta me again!!  LOL
