Around $2500, 0.5 ct diamond center, 1 ct tw in white gold. The pave stones wrap all the way around the band width-wise, and the setting is very low compared to what seems to be the popular standard (something DH knows I prefer for ease of wear…I can use pockets!).

Reactions to my ring have varied far and wide. Among some friends and in certain places, it’s a pretty big sparkler. Among others, it’s understated and delicate (which seem to be the words of choice for describing a small-ish ring to the wearer). Either way, I love my ring and think DH did a great job of choosing it on his own.

5,000 for the set. It’s a 1 ct. princess center with two brillian cuts channeled down either side. White gold. Love love love.

I honestly don’t know. I voted under $500 but it could be a bit more. I also don’t know the diamond stats (carat, color, etc.). The ring was made from two heirloom rings; my greatgrandmother’s center stone and his grandmother’s setting.

@Arshim:  You said cost – not appraisal value! And it hasn’t been appraised so I have no idea what it would appraise at. But yeah, we were luck to have two awesome rings to start with.

Both of my rings (one “promise” ring that I have now and the custom moissanite ring we’re having made by Schubach’s) plus my wedding band are under $3000. Not too shabby, eh?

cost and value are 2 different things.  i know what my ring appraised for but i do not know and would never ask what he paid.  he did use a diamond from my family, so FI’s cost is even less.

@Arshim: You need another option. Mine’s an heirloom ring. It was given to FI and I from his parents. He didn’t pay for it and we don’t know how much it cost when it was originally purchased. We don’t even really know the specs.
