Ahhh that's exciting! I'm just curious~ where is it/what is it called? I live in Illinois, too, but am also not engaged. I just want to know for possible future reference.
I was honestly on cloud 9 when I first realized what I'd stumbled upon... :)
@babybumblebee: I PMd you!
Thank you :)
@SnowPeony: I definitely will, good idea! It'll probably be at least a month, I think we're gonna wait for the weather to really warm up. I wish it were going to be warm tomorrow b/c we have zero plans.. but it's supposed to be 39 with snow/rain mix and probably lots of MUD

Even though I have been and still am "waiting", I wanted to get a head start on some things. I searched in vain for months (ok… over a year, haha) for the perfect venue. Nada. We both wanted a barn, but had set requirements… everything I came across was too expensive, not in a pretty area, not big enough, etc, etc. I eventually posted on Craigslist (a long time ago) about possibly renting a private barn for a weekend. I kept renewing the ad when it would expire "just in case". That was our last resort and we both were settled on making it happen somehow.
Fast forward to now and I haven't even wanted to think about weddings/marriage for weeks and weeks. I even got to the point of questioning our relationship. Enter random Craigslist email telling me about the most perfect venue we could have asked for. WTF?! Ironic timing to say the very least. It's in a perfect location and here's the description of the center: "provides space for creative expression, exploration of innovative ways of getting things done, meetings, campouts, weddings, exhibits, concerts and retreats." Uh…. how amazing is that!??! That is SO us ;)
I have contacted the owner but have yet to hear back. There are only two photos online, but I am extremely hopeful because they look great. I doubt it will cost much to rent out (fingers crossed big time).
I am trying SO hard to keep this out of my mind. We both decided we want to check it out when the weather warms up and take some pictures of the place (we're amateur photographers). However, this is not on the premise of checking it out for a venue (yet). I was the one that told him about it last week, but didn't mention a wedding at all. We like to go on "adventures" and check out things like that, so I brought it up that way.. But then HE said, well it sounds like a good place for the wedding….. I didn't say a single thing but "yes, it kind of does, it could probably work"
EEK. I am excited, and I just had to share with the hive!! I am trying to put it out of my mind, but after searching for so long and almost agonizing over not being able to find anything, this is… perfect :) I hope it works out, wish us luck!
