thanks for the new thread jag
ugh so I pretty much think I'm out, I caved and tested last night and today both BFN's and now I have a tiny amount of brown spotting which is the norm for AF to begin her arrival, I'm so upset.
@ms sweets: Ugh, I'm sorry! Fingers crossed it's just spotting and doesn't turn into full flown AF. *hugs*
@ms sweets: Hugs. This month was easier than last with the BFNs. I was telling a friend that I think that we didn't hit the mark last month. I've come up with a plan to make it more a priority than before. I think being too busy really worked against us with our TTC chances. So, this cycle we're going to work harder on it than before.
@jaguar: Thanks for the new thread! I'm using the CBFM not the throwaways. I have a little basket in the bathroom with my testing sticks and cups. Hubby was like, "I do not want to know what you are doing with that!". He's been really sweet. Every night this weekend he has asked me if I want to go make a baby. Such a doll!
@ms sweets: I'm sorry! She is just one of those people you don't like seeing around.
It looks like we timed things well this month so now it's a waiting game. According to temps and OPK, I think I Oed on Tuesday of this past week. Possibly Wednesday. And if that's the case, it looks like I'm back to 28 days after two 30 day cycles.
BUT TCOYF originally had me Oing on Thursday. They change it to Tuesday IF, and only IF, I change vaginal sensation from lubricative to wet. And those can be pretty similar, so who knows.
Now it's a waiting game, which can be sooo tough. I'm not sure when I'll test. Ideally 12 DPO or even later. But I have a few cheapies and I'm addicted to POAS so I don't think I'll hold out that long.
The good news is that by changing my O date to Tuesday, I'm already 4 DPO instead of 2!!!! Lol!
Here's my chart so far. It's still a little iffy with the gradual temp increase. Before my miscarriage, I had a very obvious shift from low 97s (97.2 or so) to a 98+. Now it seems I have a few days of mid-97s before going up to 98... If I Oed on Thurs, it would just move my coverline to 97.6.
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE DIFFERENCE IS BETWEEN THE PINK AND PURPLE SHADING ON THE NUMBERS? I thought it was always purplish/gray... not sure what the pink means (97.5, 97.5 and 97.8 below).

@Mrs. Bonnie Blue: Awwww! Your hubs is being so cute!!!! :)
@carrieknitscake: It can be so hard to coordinate schedules and make time for TTC. Before you know it, the small window is up!
@ms sweets: Uggg, sorry. Hope she doesn't show!
@jaguar: Thanks for the new thread! We needed it!
*does a dance* I have EWCM! For the first time in like 3 months!
I only have a quick second to update. I'm on CD22, expecting O anywhere between today and CD26. BD-ing right on track. Yay!
Life is good :) Off to get busy cough cough ;)
thanks everyone, I'm so sick of seeing AF. But I have a question for everyone: if you had a child already and their birthday ended being in the same month around the same time as your projected due date (if you were to get pregnant in that time frame) would you skip that month so as to not take away from the child you already have or would you keep on TTCing?
@HopingToBeaMama: Isn't he?
@carrieknitscake: It does take some coordinating! Hubby works out-of-town--not as extreme as Jholller's hubby does, but he is only here every couple of days. We are lucky that this weekend is his long weekend. Hopefully our 'hard' work will pay off this month!
TMI alert!!!! So, at the movies today I went to the bathroom and when I wiped, serious EWCM, like hanging off the TP. My sides are hurting in the front, so I'm wondering if I'll O tomorrow. It would be perfection.
@ms sweets: I have two friends, who are sisters, whose birthdays are two days apart. They never felt like anything was 'cheated' from them by having their birthdays so close together. My Hubby and BIL's birthdays are 12 days apart.
@ms sweets: I would keep TTC. Now, had you asked me this 8 months ago, I probably would have had a different answer. At that point, our first month TTC would have given us a Christmas baby. I didn't really want a Christmas baby but never thought we'd get pregnant right away. We did, and then miscarried. So now I'm a little biased, and I will just keep TTC- I won't plan around anything. I'm also on month 8, so it shown me that no matter how well you plan, you never know how long it will take.
I know a few families who's kids' birthdays are less than 2 weeks apart. But they make it work-- sometimes they do the birthday of the first one a few days early and the 2nd one a few days late, so their parties are 3 weeks apart.
PLUS- if you wait until next month, and then you deliver 2 weeks early, their birthdays will still be really close!
But that's just me!!!! :)
@carrieknitscake: Here's to this cycle working for you!
@Mrs. Bonnie Blue: That is so cute. :) I still secretly want a CB monitor, but I just can't justify the price for when I'm not ovulating properly. Maybe one day.. if the cycles start working themselves out.
@HopingToBeaMama: Whatever date, it looks like you're well set for a good TWW this month. Thinking positive!!
@MrsMaine: YES !!!! No annovulatory cycle for you this month, twinny! Go get busy. (And just in time for your RE visit next week - perhaps they can blood test check you to confirm ovulation!
@ms sweets: I'd just TTC - those things don't matter to me. (At this rate, I don't care when I get pregnant or what I have, I JUST WANT ONE. :)
As for me, well, I'm ITCHING to get this show on the road. Patience, grasshopper.
@ms sweets: My sister and I have the same birthday. We are 7 years apart! My mom left to go to the hospital during her birthday party! I never felt cheated. My parents always made sure we both felt special on our day (two separate birthday cakes, singing happy birthday twice, etc)
@jaguar: DEED=DONE! I'm so excited. Swim little spermies, swim swim!
@HopingToBeaMama: It's just counting the three temps in a row above the coverline. The egg won't show up until you've have 3 temps above the line. Does that answer your q?
@jaguar: EEEE!! Had to post one more time to make it to 2,000 posts haha. It's 1:30 AM - I'm going to sleep now! EEEE!!!
Thanks for the new thread!
I've really not got anything to update. CD 43, 22 DPO (?), no AF, no BFP, negative blood test. Just waiting for my body to get the hell on with it.
On the flip side, I went all out and partied (with quite a few glasses of wine, too) this Friday. We were with some friends who don't know that we're TTC, and they kept on asking whether we weren't going to have kids soon. As we don't really want people to know yet, we just say that "it will probably be sooner rather than later". That way, they won't be totally surprised when we (at some point...) announce a (future) pregnancy, but they won't go around asking for updates all the time, either.
@Danish_Student: I am hoping AF arrives soon - this purgatory sucks! (I'm CD61, 27DPO & bored out of my freaking mind. Can you ask your DR for something like what I'm taking, to stimulate a period & hurry things along?
@jaguar: CD61 sounds awful. What are you getting from your doctor to make AF hurry up and get there? I'm thinking that I'll call my doctor if AF still hasn't shown her face by the end of the week.
@jaguar: To answer your question from the other thread I'm 9 weeks or so. However, I have an ultra sound on Tuesday where we should get an accurate measurement. The doctors estimate before was from dates (which we all know my cycle was very long) and levels in my blood. So we shall see what's really going on over the next couple of days.
@MrsMaine: So excited to hear!!!! Baby dust your way!!!!
AF just ended today so we are looking to make a little Halloween baby. :) I'm going to get myself some grapefruit juice to try and increase my EWCM and I am debating ordering the CBEFM, although I think I might be too late to start it for this cycle unless I can find it in a local store.
Good morning, ladies!
Fell asleep last night on the couch. Hubby woke me up when he went to bed, but by the time I got ready for bed, he was asleep.
I thought about waking him up, but decided to wait until this morning and see what my CBEFM said. Well...........................woke up this morning, tested, and guess what?
My egg is dropping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO, I went right back into the bedroom and woke hubby up.
We will BD again this evening. Hopefully, we will time it right this weekend. It was a reassuring thing to see that I'm showing enough hormones that I'm ovuluating. That was something I thought I was doing, but you can't be sure on it.
@jaguar I got mine off of EBAY. I set a limit on what I was willing to go up to and got it well under it. We will see in a few weeks if it pays off. It has helped me right now understand how my cycle is working, besides just charting.
@chrispygal: If you can get it before CD6, then you are ok. You won't start testing on the testing strips until CD6. I'm liking mine so far this cycle. My advice is to pee in a cup and then put your testing strip in there. I've read that so many people messed up their testing strips by having the smooth side down when peeing or something like that. I also don't get rid of my 'cup' until after I see that the testing strip was read correctly. That way if I need to test again, I still have my FMU.
GOOD LUCK ON A HALLOWEENIE BABY!!!!! I told Hubby last night that if we get pregnant this month, our baby would share the same birthday as its daddy (July). He looked at me and said, "My dad's birthday is in January--day after yours." I figured out we he said and I said, "Your birthday month---you would be our baby's daddy!" He laughed after he realized what I said. Silly Hubby!!!
Hi everyone,
just wanted to check in on the new thread. I've kinda been laying low this cycle...feeling much more relaxed about TTC. However, my chart is totally different from last month. Im trying to chart CM, and my o-day/coverline keeps changing on FF. It's making me crazy! Also, I've had faint lines on my OPKs all month, but none of them have been as dark as the control line. The darkest one yet was yesterday afternoon, but then it was light again last night. I bought the cheap OPKs online, so I'm wondering if that was a bad idea! Anyways, I'm still planning to test on Saturday morning, so I'm considering myself in the TTW. Fingers crossed.
@ms sweets: I'm crossing my fingers that bitch doesn't show! And about your question as to having kids with the same bday month, I was initially thinking "I think TTC is so hard, that beggers can't be choosers and you have to try every month..." And then I realized that my brother and I are not only in the same bday month (july) but I am the 6th and he is the 8th. And our birthdays were always such seperate events (like we never combined cakes or anything!) that it didn't even occur to me at first when I read you post. DUR!
@MrsMaine: Woohoo! Yay for ewcm! Let MrMaine's swimmers surf on it all the way to your egg! Come on, Baby Maine!!!!
@carrieknitscake: Good luck this month:) You have a great attitude:) I think it's a great idea to make it a priority, and try to have fun with it the same time. I think that's the tough part - keeping it fun and not just a "business transaction." DH jokes that's what we do sometimes, and that he needs to make a deposit in the bank - lol.
@Danish_Student: I'm sorry:( Are they going to give you anything to induce AF?
@jaguar: Jeez, louise! I never invite AF anywhere, but I'm sending happy thoughts to her that she's actually welcome in Australia!!
@mwitter80: Good luck to you at your appt! I am so freakin' happy for you:)
@chrispygal: I went on a manhunt for the CBE monitor in store due to being on like Day 3 of AF and wanting to use it right away. I went to umpteen gillion stores and no one has it instore. SuperTarget. Walgreens. CVSs. WalMart. They all just sold the sticks. I ended up doing Buy It Now on ebay and getting the seller to overnight it to me.
@Mrs. Bonnie Blue: How high did your feet jump in the air when you saw that egg?!?! Isn't it just the greatest feeling in the world to see it? I know what you mean about being glad to know you're body is actually working:) Happy BD'ing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We'll be really close together in the 2WW!
So, DH left this morning. I am clocking in for my 2WW at 1DPO today.
We did not get 280 million swimmers in, mainly we knew when I wasn't ovulating anymore and also bc of DH's serious coming-from-across-the-globe jetlag.
Even though I was not supposed to, I used the CBE digital opks a few times. Mainly bc I was getting freaked out that I would O before DH got home Thurs night due to CM. Early afternoon on Thursday, it was a neg blank face, but the LH line and Estrogen line were very close to the same color. The LH line needs to be a hair darker for a pos. DH came home, and we BD, and then at around 1130 that night, I took another one, and it was pos! We BD around 4am. Then again at around 3pm. Then we went to Miami for the night, and we got home at around 1am. I tested with an opk and it was blank. But I was still having very noticeable cramps, and I read you can be ovulating, and get a negative because the surge happens prior to. So we passed out, and Bd'd when we woke up yesterday, because I really believe I was ovulating at the time due to cramping. And by the afternoon, I felt nothing anymore.
And we were wiped out!
So we got in 160 million swimmers, but it's mainly because we had the pos opks, and we knew when I O'd after all, instead of having to drag it out through this morning!
I set this crazy goal for BD based on us not knowing my O date, but I honestly don't know if we could have done it! We are definitely sex every day kind of people, but 2x a day = a bit much! Fortunately we only had to worry about it Thurs night, Friday, and Sat morning:)
I was worried that 4x BD maybe still wasn't enough, but then I stalked FF charts and looked at BD and we did it more times than a lot of those people did it in their entire month they got pg!
What do you guys think? Is it enough? 4x in a positive opk period? 160 is so much lower than 280, so I can't help but worry...
@jholler25: 4 times should be enough. Anymore and there probably wouldn't have been many swimmers left in his juice. It takes a way to produce more,so I am sure you guys maximized the number of swimmers he had to use:)
@mrskesslertobe: I was thinking the same thing.
@Mrs. Bonnie Blue: Very cool on the egg dropping sign! I am really curious to see if it works for you! The person who recommended it to me got pregnant the first time she saw the little egg sign. I hope the same is true for you! Oh, and lmao on your DH getting confused about "daddy". Too funny!
@jholler25: I think 4 times is enough!! Great timing with the O, and here's hoping this is it for you two!
So I went ahead and ordered the CBEFM. I ordered it online from CVS along with 30 test strips. I found an online coupon code and the total kit and sticks ended up costing me $140, including tax, and I was able to use my FSA account so I paid for it using pre-tax dollars that I put away every pay check. I am on CD6 today so I won't be able to use it this month at all, so I'll start on our next cycle. If by some chance I do get pregnant this cycle, I guess I'll return it. I could live with that! lol.
So has anyone else been eyeing furniture? I've been on this kick lately where I'm searching for nursery furniture and gliding rockers, etc. I think this is going to be my replacement addiction for wedding planning. lol.
@Mrs. Bonnie Blue: YAY! That's great that you got the egg picture! Do you mind me asking how much you got the CBEFM on Ebay for? I'm deciding if it's worth investing in, but I don't have that big of a budget! I'd be so proud of myself to see that little egg though!
@jaguar: Even though I hate her, I hope SWSNBN makes her way to you, and soon. CD61 is just cruel! I'm sorry twinny! Let's get this show on the road, AF!
@jholler25: I think you got the perfect amount of swimmers! It's hard not to over-do it, which I think you would have if you had BD'ed any more. I'm feeling it for you this month! Everything fell into place perfectly for you!
As for me, I'm CD23 and I'm now getting twingy/crampy/pains in my left (working!) ovary. If I O at all, it's usually between CD23 and CD26. All the signs of O are here, so I'm REALLY hoping this is it. DH and I have BD 3x so far this fertile period (CD 20,22,23AM, and will again tonight (23PM)and every other day on through to CD28 to be safe. Like JHoller, I want to make sure we BD enough but not overkill! Please send baby dust my way!
I think it's a sign that everything is working as it should this month, with my RE appointment on the 28th. Isn't it sometimes true that a lot of women get pregnant the month they have the RE appointment and end up not needing the help? Okay, maybe I made that up in my silly mind but I'd sure love it to hold true!
ETA: DH just came home from an errand and bought me a book of baby names. Cue: AWWWW!! He's feeling very confident this month! :) Love you Mr. Maine!
@jaguar: this is super stinky. I wish AF would just hurry up and get here for you soon.
thank you everyone for making me feel a lot better about continuing to BD next cycle, I also talked to DH and he said we shouldn't waste a month either, soo we will continue to TTC. AF did show today and I'm not happy about, but it was nice to have a drink and coffee (I really miss coffee). But I am def. ordering the supplements and continuing with the green tea and pms cream. I'm just getting so tired of seeing pregnant women everywhere and not being one of them.
jholler: wow you must be exhausted, but good job I def. think you have enough swimmers having a party all up in there lol.
@MissMaine: aww that is so sweet!
To the ladies who have CMEFM: how does it differ from using OPK's? (sorry if this a dumb question).
@crispgal: yay for Halloween baby!
I started my period yesterday, so today is CD2. Right now, Mr. Bunny and I are talking about taking a few months off from treatment because it would be less than ideal for me to be hugely pregnant during most of wedding season. I don't think we are going to stop TTC naturally, though. I just hope that the clomid kickstarted my body somewhat and that I *might* O on my own. We'll still see the doctor in a couple weeks and talk through our options. Taking a few months off will also give us time to save up some money for treatment because I'm pretty sure we'll want to do more monitored cycles next time and we have 0 infertility coverage through our insurance.
Anyway, that's where we stand right now. Thank you to everyone who was so nice when I got TWO evaps in a row and thought for a few blissful minutes that I was pregnant. I'm actually doing OK, considering, and cried less about AF coming than I did last month.
@Danish_Student: He's giving me medication called Primolut - it's essentially progesterone in a pill. After I take them for 10 days (day 6 today!) my period should start within 2-4 days after that. Fingers crossed!
@mwitter80: How exciting - it feels like just a few days ago that you had your random preggers announcement. Yay! :)
@chrispygal: Halloween baby - how cute!
@Mrs. Bonnie Blue: I think you got a great steal - totally worth it. I might have to look around if/when I start ovulating, to see if I can find a good deal.
@jholler25: Thanks gorgeous! I'm hoping for her to arrive on time, too! 4 is plenty - it's timing and quality, not quantity (though you guys worked that out too!) I'm so hoping this was your month; after your planning and efforts, you totally deserve it.
@MrsMaine: Yay happy baby making days ahead for YOU!
@bunny: Who knows, maybe the cliche of 'taking some time off' might work for you? It seems to have been the way for every man & his dog lately.
@jholler25: 1DPO here, too! We didn't get nearly as much nookie time in as you and your DH, though :(
@jholler25: I was expecting to be 1DPO today, but FF is telling me I'm 3DPO. However, I still haven't had a clear positive on my OPKs or a drastic temp increase, so I don't know what's going on with me! I'm hoping I either missed the surge with the OPKs or I'll get a more obvious sign of O soon!
