A few weeks ago my husband gave me a gift that left me speechless and brought tears to my eyes. It was completely unexpected and the amazing part? It cost less than $5!
My husband has been working night shift for the whole first year of our marriage. At some point, he got the idea to start writing to me each night while he was at work. He took a jounal sized spiral notebook and wrote a note each time he worked. I was blown away by his thoughtfulness. Reading it was amazing. Sometimes he told me that he loves me, sometimes he was talking about the things we were doing (trips we went on, special events, etc.) and other times he thanked me for things I did – some of these things I didn’t even realize that he noticed! Words can’t express how grateful I am for this present. So, we bought two notebooks at the store and we are both going to start one for each other.
The reason why I’m sharing this is that I thought it was such a cool idea. I’m excited to do this for my husband and thought some of you ladies might enjoy it as well!

Awww. How sweet! My FI and I are long distance so we actually ship a notebook back and forth between us, writing each other notes, enclosing pictures, etc. It’s a great way to document and preserve memories!

That is possibly the sweetest thing I have ever heard of.
@sleepyrebel: That’s freaking adorable.
What amazing memories you’ll have to share with your kids through that notebook. It would be really cool to start another one for each child (if you’re planning on having kids!) starting from when you find out you’re pregnant.
