Let the photographer selection come to an end already! So far, one of the best deals I’ve found is through 2 pro photo companies that provide service in various cities and are based out of state. They are The Pros, and Wedding Bug. Has anyone used them as their photog? I’m nervous about going with a service and not talking to the photographer themselves until 2 weeks before. I know pics are important, but I really need to keep things as cost effective as possible.
Anyone have recommendations for a Central Florida (Space Coast) photographer that is good and reasonably affordable? I’ll need 6-8 hours, 1 shooter, and a disc only is fine.
Any help is truly appreciated! I feel like everyone in Orlando charges an arm and a leg because it’s destination wedding central and people are willing to drop mad cash, or just don’t know better.

I know there are several ladies on weddingbee who have had really, really bad experiences with The Pros-mostly in the poor quality of photos received. I don’t know anything about Wedding Bug, but hopefully some of the pro photographers here can give you some input.
You might be better off seeing if you can find a student photographer in your area.

The worst thing to do with photography is to shop on price. Find what you like and then work on getting it into your budget.

I would strongly advise against the use of a photography contractor. If price is a major issue, you’re better off with a student – that way at least you can see their portfolio first and meet with the individual. If you go with a contractor, there is no guarantee that you’ll be able to see the portfolio of the photog who will actually show up at your wedding, or that a different photog might show up that day even if you did see some work.

Thanks for the info bees. I did more research (here actually) and found that it was riskier than I thought. Staying local for photos and away from the contracters.

I’ve heard terrible things about The Pros, and never heard of the other one. They don’t always tell you your photographer up front, or they tend to change the photographer before the date. I’d splurge a little and get a reputable photographer! I’m sure the Central Florida bees can help!

We considered The Pros as an option for DJs, but then Fiance discovered they wouldn’t even let us SPEAK to a DJ without putting down money. So we crossed them off the list.
