One hazy ATL afternoon + new spring flowers = finally taking some decent shots of my engagement and wedding rings!
Let's see your lovely rings too! Upload your ring photo shoot here!
For those who don't know about this, there was a wonderful post a good while back, about how to do a stellar photo shoot and give the rings their moment sparkling in the sun!
(here's one of the old threads about how to take photos of your gems!)
http://www.weddingbee.com/2009/12/04/diamonds-in-the-sun-e-ring-macro-pics-1/
And without further adieu, here is my 3 stone beauty and its' lovely friend!

Well, I only have the e-ring so far, but as a photography enthusiast, pretty much the first thing I wanted to do after he proposed was to take fancy ring pics. :)
We had some flowers for Valentines day...

This was a green mossy branch on a path in the dog park where FI and I love taking our pup.

What gorgeous photos (and that ring!) Miss Ranunculus! And congratulations on your recent engagement!
You have a great eye! I just am a sucker for flower and ring photos.
I'm going to do some more when we go down to FL for spring break...I am feeling that I need to find a hibiscus in hot pink and some palm leaves or tropical foliage for some more pics! I want to put his ring in some photos too :)
@bellenga: Great pics! I like the side eternity band photo.
I can't resist a ring post... here's mine with on the roses he proposed with.

Gorgeous photo MsYellowJacket! What a beautiful ring. Love the band on it. Fwiw, my fil used to be a professor at Tech! :)
I am loving seeing all the beautiful rings and the intricate shots!
always love your rings bellenga! I haven't done a photo shoot since I first got my e-ring... but now that I have a set I'll have to do one soon!
@bellenga: @miss ranunculus: @MsYellowJacket: Your rings are all so beautiful, lol and I find it great that they all include flowers too!
@Corgitales: You should so do a photo shoot of your new wedding ring and the e ring! Can't wait to see it! And thank you :)
@Koala: Thanks so much you're sweet :) Let's see yours too!
The tutorial on how to take the ring shots using the macro setting on your camera totally works! I am utterly amazed at the way my photos turned out today!
Let's see some more amazing photo shoots of your e and wedding ring (or just e ring)!
@bellenga: thanks! this is a great thread - I love seeing the detailed shots as well. Also - that's funny about your FIL... I'm so ready to graduate! Tech has drained me... I actually should be studying for an exam now
@Koala Bear: thank you!
I learned how to take photos from the tutorial as well. I found it hard to have a steady hand, so I used a tripod along with the macro settings.
I've shared this one a million times:

I hate the ones from our wedding, so I'll have to try taking one with my wedding ring even though they are soldered (sp?) together now.
I love that photo HisBarista! Your 3 ring is gorgeous! I know I made some photos today b/c I too, had not made any of the wedding band. The flower looks as if its' just fallen. So pretty!
And honestly, I think the previous photos of my e ring I took aren't as good.
My camera is not that fancy, but I used the macro setting along with a 3x setting so I could get the really close detail of the inside of the daffodil for the one with the wedding band "circle" look. You could actually see the stamen on the flower and the pollen! Wow. My little camera did that?
I showed the pics just now to my hubby and to my son (before he went to bed..he was watching "Journey to the Center of the Earth") and they couldn't believe I took those!
It is a great tutorial!
@MsYellowJacket: My fil used to teach economics!
Here's one of the only "ring pics" from our wedding. = ( I am hoping SOMETHING will bloom for us so I can get some real pictures.
This is a great idea. I'm going to snap some pictures the first chance I get when the blooms come up!
@HisBarista: That is a very pretty shot! I know you'll get your blooms soon! What about maybe a pinecone or some fruit? Something interesting and with a bit of detail. I found the ruffley inside of the daffodill to be perfect!
Your band is pretty too! :)
Ya'll can get creative and find interesting media to shoot the rings on. I've seen them shot on buttons, on fruit, on different things. Even on a pencil!
I've thought of taking a few more of mine with them on top of some Godiva chocolates (my fave) or on a mound of gummi bears(my non chocolate fave)!
Really creative shots have been featured here on WB!
Trust me, if my shots can turn out decent, yours can!
I am so so loving all the beautiful photos we're getting tonight!
Keep em' coming bees!
@bellenga: sidenote... I'm taking an econ class right now for an elective - I've realized by brain is not programmed for econ... I'll be sticking to engineering courses... lol
I plan on going to our wedding location (beach) for spring break and planning - I hope to get some unique non-flower shots as well!
Any other ideas for e-ring photo shoots besides flowers? I think it will be a while until I get to see a bloom this year
I have one of the ring with my bouquet (a shell bouquet) but you cannot see the ring detail. A lovely photo, one our photographer took on the beach after the wedding.
Fwiw, I never took econ.
@Kimber: We were just discussing this very thing! I am wanting to take some photos from our FL trip coming up in a few weeks (tropical foliage) and you can also get some amazing photos from unusual media.
Like I said, I've seen buttons as backgrounds, a pencil, a stack of books, a fortune cookie, chocolates, candies, and on shells! (added in a few more I've seen)
@dolphindoll: Thank you!
This is such a creative site! You really learn alot of fun crafts and projects by hanging here!
@bellenga:cookies would have to sit around long enough to get a picture LOL... I will look around for some vibrant colors and wait for the rain to stop and get some pics. Otherwise it will be after the wedding before anything grows lol
I just did some with my shoes and my work apron (that I probably am not allowed to show until Tuesday, but whatever). I can't believe what a Macro setting can do! Sadly, my camera's battery died in the middle of my shoot.
Anyway, I'll stop with the pictures after this. Haha.
That shoe pic is great! And that photo of your apron with your ring? Should be your avatar (but I love your beautiful wedding avatar photo too)! You are "his barista"!
Love your band too :)
See? Non flower pics on the fly from a great hostess with an eye for detail!
The macro shots rock!
@His Barista:I just realized I don't work on Tuesday :( Are you excited about the new logo? (p.s. I'm sorry to threadjack!!)
these are amazing photos!! i cant wait to do a "pro" shoot of my ring too! so much fun!
I could not get the other camera to work, but I could not wait to send something. So here is the Ering via the cell phone camera. Sorry about the bad quality
@SweetRose2011: Ugh. I am soooo glad I don't work on Tuesday! haha. I will be excited once the transition is done. We keep running out of everything and no one has much to spare! But all the petites are pretty yummy!
@Everyone else: I love your pictures! They look so pretty!
@His Barista: I guess I should be glad I'm not working then, just want to see people's reactions to the new logo. I also can't wait to try the cakepops because I haven't yet since they didn't have samples for the meeting. Anyways, I'm done threadjacking for now.
Ahhh I want my ring so bad so I can have ring photoshoots! lol All these pics are so awesome (I'm getting some serious ring envy over here).
@SweetRose2011: They're really rich! I really liked the tirimisu and the carrot cake. A lot of people have googled it by now, and at our store we have been hearing a lot os, "why are you changing it?" and "so, you don't think you need to have the name now?" haha.
and against my mother's wedding china :) I had to fix the contrast so it looks like its glowing ha ha
I have done my ring photo shoot but I want to do another one! I want to do one once the flowers in our yard have blossomed!
