My friend wears hers on a chain around her neck - she's due in April - and I thought that was really sweet
@eriqua - Yeah, I have thought about that but I think I will feel more comfortable with it being stored away. The thought of the chain breaking and me losing the ring would be a little devastating.
I had to take my wedding ring off but we bought really cool stunt rings in Mexico, so I replaced it with that. My ering was already too big, so it still fits. We'll see for how long!
I'm suddenly feeling kind of fat. My rings still fit just fine! No swollen fingers for me yet (at 28+5!). Does that mean I wasn't small to begin with?? What causes swollen fingers? Am I doing something wrong? My feet aren't swollen yet either!
No, that's good MS. You get swollen because fluids move from cells and blood vessels into the tissues. You don't want that to happen... Edema is a normal part of pregnancy but can also be a sign of hypertension or pre-eclampsia. I'm keeping an eye on mine very closely.
awww well I like the idea of getting a cool stunt ring online :)
I like http://www.fantasyjewelrybox.com/rings-weddingsets.html these
Whew! Thanks DG! I feel like I'm having the most abnormal normal pregnancy in history!! (I have all the wrong symptoms, and none of the typical ones!)
YAY - - I might be late but I see all you ladies post on so many threads, I had no clue you all were preggers, YAY - Congrats to each of you....Is this everyones 1st? Do you know what you're having?
And the dreaded, do people really come up to you and touch your belly? That is one thing I will never understand.....
@Jackie-O - Thanks!! This pregnancy is my first and we found out on February 4th that we are having a baby girl. The first girl in the Roddy family for about 50 years.
Yes, unfortunately there are some people that do some rogue touching of the belly. I have learned to be more comfy with my mom doing it and I love when my hubby does but still prefer other people to not invade my personal space.
@Mighty - I am glad you are not going through things like swelling. I know it gets worse as time goes on so I too have to watch myself.
Many people think something is wrong with me and my pregnancy when I tell them that I have not had morning sickness at all. My boss even said his wife was worried about me because her doc told her that having a lot of morning sickness means the baby is really healthy.
At least you got your rings off now! My aunt had to have her (ex)husband cut her rings off of her finger because she swelled so much that it was cutting off her circulation and she couldnt get them off. I don't know if it was a sudden thing, or just her being reluctant to take them off.
My fingers swelled around my rings, so they stayed on the whole time! Not by choice though, I actually thought about getting them cut off!
I'm a little late here too apparently, b/c I didn't know you were pregnant either Roddy! Congratulations! And to everyone else too, but I think I said congrats to everyone else too :o)
Now, on to your post! My SIL is pregnant with her second, and she was so sad that she had to take her rings off much earlier with her 2nd than she did with her first. She had a cheaper ring she found in a department store that is just a plain band, b/c she was getting pretty nasty looks from some strangers.
@2peasinapod - Thank you!!
I know I shouldn't care about what others think but I hate not having my rings on. I get the feeling that people will look at me and make their own assumptions about my life and I HATE that. Even when I had the rings on and my hubby couldn't make the OB appointments because of work, I still felt like people were judging me.
My rings don't fit anymore either and haven't for about two weeks. I'm due in 11 days though, so it's pretty normal! I did get a new rose gold half eternity band that turns out to be bigger than my other rings by quite a bit so it fits still!
Roddy- I know what you mean! I'm so glad the ring I just got still fits, I don't like people assuming either!

I am now at that stage of my pregnancy where I can no longer wear my e-ring nor my wedding ring because my fingers are swelling. They were such troopers! I really am going to miss wearing them!!
My hubby did something so sweet by buying the stretchy zirconia rings to replace the wedding ring but looking at my finger today, I will no longer be able to wear them either. :(
Any other bees in the same predicament? Do you miss your rings?
