Oh what a scary day for you! I am so glad you found your ring! I have insurance on my E-ring, but I am still terrified of losing it. My ring goes off and on a lot (I work as a nurse, so I don't really want to wear it while at work) and I always put it in its original blue velvet ring box so I know where it is.
That's terrifying. I know that's one of my biggest fears too. I know how hard FI worked to pay for it so if I lost it I'd feel horrible. That was actually one of the things we talked about before getting engaged. I told him Rule #1 is please don't give me a ring or propose until that sucker's insured.
So it just fell off your hand outside somewhere?!?!?
I heard of this happening once--my friend's photographer looked down and her canary heirloom ring just slid off somewhere. She never found it
You're so lucky!
I work in the sales department at a television station- we were shooting our station holiday greetings commercial and I took it off when I was getting ready for the commercial bc of the hairspray, etc. Luckily, obviosuly it was found!
Hairspray makes my ring yucky, too. But i'm the same way--if i set it down, i will lose it =(
Yikes...I'm totally paranoid something like that will happen to me.
I'm glad you found it :)
so happy you found it!!! and yup - i absolutely agree with the insurance!!! I insured my e-ring like 2 days after i received it. I insured my hearing aid too - seriously, small things like that - you never know what could happen!!!!! plus, considering that I'm fabulous for losing things... :P

So yesterday morning, I was sitting in my office and looked down at my hand and realized that my wedding ring was MIA!!! I immediately grabbed my left hand with my right thinking that I was just hallucinating- nope- GONE! My heart felt like it dropped out of my body!
I never take my ring off!! The only time is right before I get in the shower and right after I'm finished getting ready- during the time which it sits in it's perfect wooden ring box. So around 8:45a after I realized it wasn't on my hand- I went on a frantic search through the office- nowhere to be found I couldn't imagine where it could be. Needless to say- I stayed in the office until lunch time, during which I started to get nautious at the thought of losing it, and left after lunch to search my house.
Nearly 4 hours later and no luck, my husband and I returned to my office to search once again. After going through my office, moving every file cabinet, chair, desk, etc (that 3 other people had already done that day in an effort to assist me) we came up with NOTHING! As we were leaving unsuccessful and me suffering from the worst headache/nausea combination ever at that moment, I decided to trace my last steps around the building in one last effort. As I was met by 3 other collegues, my husband and I went through where we had been, where my ring wasn't, and what to do now... then I looked straight ahead-- THERE IT WAS!! I immediately yelloed "ON MY GOD!!" and flung it back on my hand faster than I can remember. They all were like "WHAT!?!?!?" Followed by hugs and laughing from them, lots of tears and smiles from me.
Needless to say it was the worst day ever!! And ended up being on of the most relieving and happiest
We just got married in August, and although my ring is covered if any of the stone fall out to be replaced at no charge from our jeweler, we hadn't gotten around to getting it insured. Insurance isn't that expensive and is worth it. You can expect to pay $10 for every $1000 that your ring is worth, and that is coverage for one year. So $200 a year is minimal to what it would cost me to replace my ring-- needless to say INSURANCE TODAY!!
I recommend all you ladies insure yours asap too- you never know what will happen no matter how careful and top of mind aware you are of yours. Has anyone else had an experience like mine???
