So, yesterday I posted a nice rant about how sick I was of this dress search.Every corner I turned, took me down a dead end. Clearly, in retrospect, things happen for a reason. In my desperate search for the Paloma Blanca 3659 dress...I found myself online late last night. By late, I mean 3AM. It was clear that I was not going to find the PB3659 locally and since it was discontinued and I still couldn't find it for sale in a size 14 or greater, I decided to see if I could find it as a sample at a closing store. So I started throwing random keywords into Google when I came across an ad for a bridal store closing in June. In my research, I found that they are a legitimate store in another state. As luck would have it, they are a Authorized Paloma retail store. So, at 3AM, I decided to call the store and leave a vm asking them to call me back and let me know what style PBs they had in stock in a size 14 or above.

This morning, I got a call that they had 6 samples in size 14 or above.I called them back immediately and they gave me the style numbers and the sizes. There was a chance that a 14 would be too snug in certain areas (the bust), so I wrote those off, leaving two styles in 16th and two styles in 18s. I found them on the PB site and they are from the current collection. Since I love the designer (everything of theirs that I had tried on was superb), I simply went with the one that best suited my body type the best.It is a size 18. It can easily be altered down to fit my size 14 body. Furthermore, because they are closing and it is a sample, they sold me that dress at a huge discount.

Thanks, everyone.  I'm very happy with my final choice.  I may never have tried it on, but every one of the Paloma Blanca dresses that I tried on was beautiful.  I could have picked any of them.  What I really love about the Paloma Blanca dresses is that they are very lightweight, which will be enormously advantageous since my wedding is overseas and I have to travel with it.  

If anyone else is looking for a Paloma Blanca, e-mail me the style # and I will let you know if it is one of the ones the store has.  (They may have more...but I only asked for the ones larger than a size 14.)

No, I haven't even tried it on! LOL! I know, I'm crazy. It probably wasn't very clear in my post, but this isn't even the PB I was looking to find. But the price was so amazing that I figure that if I don't like it, I can sell it for what I bought it for, which is over $700 less than retail!

The other thing is that it's 2 sizes up from my size. If anything, I can alter whatever I don't like about the fit. One thing I like about it in particular is the drop waist. I am very busty (38FF) and the drop waist elongates the torso, which is something I need in a strapless, so I don"t look all boob. :)

So, it's Friday.  I ordered my Paloma Blanca sample dress from the store in Denver on Saturday and just before lunch today, a big old box was delivered by UPS.   MY DRESS!!!!!

As I said, I have never tried it on.  I am not opening the box until I get to my mother's tonight after work.  I will try it on then.  Wish me luck!!!

Oh my...I did not update everyone here.  I tried it on after work on Friday at my mothers house and  *** I LOVE IT *** !!!!!

It is big on me, of course, but I am having it altered down two sizes.  It's lovely and my mother LOVES it.  I can picture everything now....my hair, my accessories, my jewelry, my shoes.  This is THE dress!  Finally!!!!! Yeaaaaaaahhh!!!

It's champagne....as shown above.  However, it's not as blush looking in person as it shows above.

Thank, everyone.  My mother was having a very hard time with my vision.  She kept trying to put me in very cake-topper wedding dresses during trials.  I felt bad letting her down, but I didn't want my dress to be too ornate.  She would get so excited about a dress and I'd take one look at it and say "too Princessy" and she would be deflated.  I wanted it elegant and somewhat simple.  She wanted white, lots of lace or beading and a big 'ole ballgown.  With this gown, I got simple, I got elegant and she got more of a skirt than I was previously considering.  I am so happy that she loves it!  I know it's all about what I want, but it was really important to me that she liked it.  And, now, I think she's finally seeing what I have been envisioning all along. :)
