I already had a boy.  I read about the Shettles method, and while I didn’t apply it very strictly, I did calculate when I was going to ovulate and times sex for a girl.  I got a girl.  Could be chance as much as anything though.

I’d have been totally fine with another boy; I just thought I’d see if I could enhnace my chances of a girl, so I’d have one of each….I always wanted one of each!  And I wanted a boy first.  So, I am really lucky~!

As far as I have read, Shettles himself admitted that his theory was disproven and not as accurate as he thought.

That being said, my DD is the first girl born to my DH’s family in 78 years, and we concieved her from DTD only 5 days before ovulation (I was charting at the time).

The baby I am currently pregnant with, I (gently) attempted to sway blue by timing, diet, preseed, etc. We won’t find out the sex until birth, so we’ll see what happens! I have no preference either way, but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to try and see what happens!

AOriver:  Yes, I really didn’t care if I got another boy, because my son is so sweet and such a delight, but I thought, what the heck.  I really think it was chance as much as anything!

    AOriver:  Thanks for the well-wishes!

I think approaching the topic of “swaying” for a certain sex is just to look at it as something that can’t hurt–but not to put all your money on it getting you one gender or the other. Some people get SO serious about it, and are terribly disappointed when things don’t go the way they wanted.

Swaying for a boy was easy for me, since a lot of the things considered “blue sways” are things that I naturally do in my day to day life anyhow. I just adjusted a few things and thought it would be interesting to see what happened. I will be happy with whatever baby I get 🙂

We have a girl and she was conceived very close to O day if not on O day.
