I really like shoes, but don’t have the budget to get true “designer” shoes for the wedding (insert pouty face here). I have to have THE shoes by December so I can get proper hem to hollow measurements (that’s when the dress gets ordered, although I’ve already paid for it). I’ll keep looking, but…So far I’ve picked out two pairs that I really love and I can’t choose between them!
These are the first pair:
They’re Stuart Weitzman Jumbos in a deep, ruby red (they look much different in person–the real red is a true ruby, not a bright red like in the screen capture).
The new (got them today!) ones are Stuart Weitzman Paradise in a sapphire blue–I really, really would like to have blue shoes. They’re here:
I’d rather wear the blue since, well, they’re blue…but also because they’re slightly more comfortable. (truth? Also because then I might be able to convince FI that I have to keep the red ones around for work wear, and I otherwise can’t justify to myself the purchasing of expensive shoes for non-wedding. I realize that makes very little sense, but that’s the way my mind works.)
The dilemma is: do they go as well with my dress?

I think the blue ones go with your dress better than the red ones. And since the blue ones are more comfortable, go for it! They are both very cute.

I think the blue go better but I’m in love with the red ones!

I always vote for the most comfortable shoe. 99% of guests won’t see your cute shoes but an uncomfortable pair WILL make your life miserable.

I have the same dress only in the shorter version! I like the blue best too. I think they look more regal and with the shiney rhinestones on it, I think it will go better with the dress because it’s not the solid color like the red since the rhinestones break up the solid blue a bit… also, when the shoes do show, I think the rhinestones will really make the embellishments on the top of the dress pop out or vise versa, the embellishments on the top of the dress will make the rhinestones on the shoes pop out. 🙂

Thanks, all! I hope you’re not just voting for the blue because I said it was my favorite 😉 I actually love them both quite a bit, and neither is especially uncomfortable…
The red just seem like I could wear them so easily with a black cocktail dress or even with a sharp suit; maybe FI won’t make me give them back…heehee.

I actually think the red ones better match the sort of whimsical feel that your dress gives me.
That being said, omg, the blue ones! I want. Wear them for me haha.

That’s what I was worried about–the whimsical feel of the dress not coming through in the blue shoes…we’re really going for whimsical elegance, and the elegance is very important but I don’t want it to be stuffy!

Any advice from the daytime bees? I’m still torn…sigh. I wish I could wear them all, haha!

I prefer the blue, and you said they were more comfortable which is a huge plus. I got awesome shoes for my wedding but they were only comfy for the first half of the reception and then my feet started to kill. Possibly because I’m not used to wearing heels either.
