Hello all! Had a crazy weekend which included some fantastic shoe shopping. I just had to tell my story about my shoes.
So when I first got engaged I knew I needed low heels and saw a post on Glamour that showed the cutest pink shoes. They were the Kate Spade Muse with a 2 1/2″ heel…perfect! Uh yeah $298 on katespade.com not so perfect. I had just ordered my dres so I still had a few months before it came in so I didn’t worry about it. About 3 months later I start looking at shoes (February of this year) because I’m getting ready for my first fitting. I go back and find the article on glamour and decide to take a shot in the dark and look for them cheaper. I find them on zappos for $120 yay! Only one pair left in my size which sold out before I could purchase them. I had a gift card to zappos from my mom for my birthday so I went ahead and purchased these.
I love them! 2 1/2″ heel, gorgeous color, just beautiful shoes. The past couple of weeks I’m wearing them around the house trying to break them in, practicing dancing in them, whatever I can do. Each time I put them on though I see something weird. Just under the knot you can see the white styrofoam that they use as lining I guess. Then I realize my little toe looks weird because it’s right in one of the side vents. Anyway, I’m set on these shoes I’m just going to wear them.
Well I’m at my bridal shower on April 30 and FI is hanging out with some friends and accepts an invitation to a wedding. It’s a couple that are friends of friends, I’ve only met them once and FI met them again that weekend at our friends house. Really weird to me, especially because it’s out of town in Myrtle Beach but it’ll be a nice get away, it’ll be the last weekend I can really use to get my mind off of OUR wedding and just try to relax. The wedding was this past weekend and was the strangest wedding ever (seriously My Redneck Wedding meets Jersey Shore…cousins making out, strippers with their teenage kids, GTL Jersey Shore stuff). Anyway, we had fun and Sunday went to the outlet, including the Kate Spade outlet. I refuse to go to any outlet until we go to Kate Spade and FI agreed because even if I couldn’t have my shoes I was thinking I could find an accessory of some sort. We get in there and the woman asks if she can help us. I said I just wanted to take a look at shoes and she said ok right behind you. It’s only 5 pairs and they’re very casual flip flops and espadrilles and stuff. I’m visibly disappointed. Thank goodness for FI. He’s like “well she’s looking for a certain shoe” so the woman asks what it is and I tell her it’s the Muse. It comes in 5 colors and I have size 10 feet (I’m 5’11, I’m allowed lol) so the chances are slim that it’s in the color and size I want. The woman starts walking into the back saying oh yeah we have those, and in a voice that makes it sound like I’m going to be disappointed she says but only in pink. Yes that’s what I want. Ok what size? 10. Well let’s take a look. None on the display but she goes in the back. I’m looking at the price and it says $170 and I’m like ugh I can’t spend this. She comes out, with my shoes in my size in her hand and then says they’re on sale for 30% off. What?!?! So I put them on and instantly start swirling and twirling around in the store, I got more emotional over these shoes than I did over my wedding dress and literally almost burst into tears. FI paid for them instantly 🙂
