Yes! My friends wedding had an amazing idea. People had to go to the mic and give a tip on how to make the marriage work! It was great and only people who like to speak in front of others will bother.
We are doing a hat draw. Putting a whole bunch of different ideas (word of advice, funny story about bride/groom, kiss the bride, kiss the groom, kiss the youngest person/oldest person in the room, dance a waltz (short clip), make a toast, dance to a song- Macarena/chicken dance, can-can etc) into the hat, and then they have to pull something out. If they do it, then we kiss.
I personally HATE the glass tinking.
We aren't allowed to have that happen. The hall doesn't like the chipped glass ware. We are making a Plinko game for us, but I have been to others were the roll a huge set of dice ect. Talk to your DJ they will have lots of ideas.
My mom & dad had guests tell anecdotes/read a poem.
Dunno what we'll do. We both hate the glass tinkling, though, so we'd better figure something out! : D
Awww, I am such a cheeseball. I love them all. LOL. Sorry, nothing original to contribute! We didn't do this at all.
You could just make out obnoxiously the first time someone does it. I bet no one would dare clink after...

Around here a big tradition during the dinner is that the guests will start tinking their glasses with their silverware for the bride and groom to kiss. I've been to weddings where I've seen this get out of hand and way too much tinking of the glasses. Some folks do get creative, where something has to happen before they kiss. A few that I've seen include that one of the guests or a group have to sing a couple lines out of a song about love (already been vetoed!) or that after the glasses get tinked the bride and groom chooses another couple that has to kiss before them. Ive also seen where a couple from the crowd has to kiss, then the bride and groom have to reenact it, which humor often ensued.
I'm not really feeling any of these options right now. Has anybody been to a wedding where a couple has done a spin on this tradition? Any new ideas out there?
