I need your help bees! Our wedding venue is a gorgeous, 1920’s mansion and our colours are deep blue and shades of ivory/blush pink. I really don’t like the chairs that are provided, but don’t know if I should just save the money and keep them as is, use chair covers (not really a fan), get folding chairs, or splurge on chiavari chairs!!
Here are some pics of the reception room and the chairs in question.
And a close up…the chairs are a blue that would fit into our decor but they are pretty beat up and make the room look really dark. I do love the way chiavari chairs would lighten up the space but they are so expensive in our area!

Honestly I would get the fancy chairs. Your venue is really gorgeous and those blue chairs ruin the whole room.

I think folding white chairs would look good in that reception area. $10/ chair is a lot IMO and that extra money can go to other things! But do something about those chairs!

If you have enough money in your budget, I would go with the chiavari chairs. They will make the reception space look so much better! They fit your venue and will look awesome. I’m probably in the minority, but I think the chairs covers and folding white chairs would look much worse than the blue chairs (especially chair covers…I think they always look horrible!).

he chairs 100% ruin the whole look/feel of the room. Usually I say save the money, but I really think in this case it’s worth splurging.

@crayfish: Yes! My feelings exactly!
OP, I am REALLY cheap. I also almost never notice aesthetic things or comment on threads about decor because I have no eye for these things, but these chairs really jumped out and screamed NO at me!!!

Thanks ladies!! I was leaning towards chiavari chairs too but needed some other opinions to push me in that direction, hahah. If we go for chiavari chairs, should we do gold to match the big mirror over the fire place or silver to match the mercury glass decor? (We had to switch venues after purchasing all of the silver decor, otherwise I would have gone with gold).
Too many details and decisions!

if you can fit it into your budget, i definitely vote chiavari chairs. depends how picky you are with theming and decor…i’m pretty picky and if you’re planning a more stylish event they will stick out.

Oh god… anything but those chairs. Your instincts are correct. They are awful. And they are destroying your beautiful venue.

I think they are fine.The only reason they stand out is because the tables ate bare.Once you add linens and your centerpieces,no one will notice.

those chairs are terrible… I’d be too cheap for Chiavaris though… but covers are totally do-able.

I am all about saving, but yikes. I would get the chiavari if you can afford it.

I could not tell you one detail about any of the chairs I’ve seen at weddings over the past…ten years. I wouldn’t worry about it.

I would say splurge for the Chivari chairs, but you should definitely check every vendors prices first. One vendor in my city had a half off sale and I was able to get my Chivari chairs for 3.50 each

I have to agree with Peachaid, no one is going to notice the chairs and say OMG look at these chairs. I wouldn’t spend the money on different chairs.
