It was really that bad? It's one of the few chick flicks my fiance wants to see. Hmmm we may have to reconsider. Maybe we'll just wait until it comes out on DVD. Thanks for the heads up.
I was thinking about seeing it too, but then it made the list of "20 Hardest-to-Love Romantic Comedies" on EW.com. I hope she sticks to Grey's.
sorry! but I have to disagree!!!
It was a cute movie (typical chick flick) but I actually think guys may like to see this one too... I think a lot of the innuendos were vulgar, but funny and although he was crazy, he was speaking the truth, somewhat (obviously, not about the ugly women part!!). I think you have to take these movies with a grain of salt and just watch them to be entertained.
and it didn't hurt that both guys were very HOT :)
Please don't give away anything! Some people might see it anyway! :)
Gerard Butler is smoking hot. He's on the cover of Esquire this month. Yowsa!
Gerad Butler is the #1 (and probably only-not a Katherine Heigle fan) reason I want to see it!
KateMW-I may have to pick up Esquire. Or at least go to the book store to drool over the cover!
A girl at work told me this was a pretty crude movie...and that her boyfriend (basically fiance) laughed the whole time at the humor. I am disapointed though because I also wante to see it and I love both of the stars!
Yes, I think Gerard is quite hot, but I found the movie totally offensive. I'm not a prude, but I thought the dialogue was totally crude and icky. I wasn't expecting great things, but I thought it would at least be kinda cute and funny. Oh well.
I love Gerard too! (I bawled my eyes out at "PS I love you"). I heard he was dating Jennifer Aniston! I am so hoping she'd find a good guy.
So he plays a chauvanist type in that movie huh? I hate it. I'd love to see that movie. I'm not one for terribly crude humor too. However, imho superbad is an exception!
When we saw the commercials for this movie on tv, FI says "yea, let's skip this one."
I guess I am glad we did!
I haven't gone to see it but FI and I are thinking about it. Only thing holding us back is we thought that the TV commercials tell you the whole movie. They were really long and showed you so much...were all the good parts in the ads??
I second Mr. Bee! 500 Days of Summer is really cute! It's somewhat flying under the radar but definitely worth seeing!
eh i wasn't really feeling this movie. I'm not a Heigl-hater (there are so many out there!) but the movie just didn't appeal to me a bit.
I do want to see 500 Days of Summer though!
I also saw this over the weekend and HATED it. I knew it would have lots of crude humor, but for me it crossed the line when they made a joke about rape. The movie wasn't even funny and I'm not a sensitive prude or anything but I found it so offensive I was getting angry instead of laughing.
I also saw it this weekend with my FI. We both thought it was alright. It's a satire and supposed to be crude - and I thought GB did a decent job! Overall, i thought it was funny, entertaining, and exactly what I expected.
I saw it with a few of my girlfriends last night and we died laughing! We knew what we were getting into before we watched the movie so it more entertaining than anything else and made for a good laugh. Sorry you didn't like it but I thought it was HILARIOUS!
I was surprised to hear that the movie was that crude/offensive because I assumed it was PG-13. I just checked the rating...and I guess it's rated R for a reason!
It kind of sounds like a typical R-rated comedy that they advertised as a chick flick. Was it much more crude than other R-rated comedies that are out these days?
I went to see it because I like Gerard Butler's acting and I really don't care for Katherine Heigl at all (my sister also went for the same reasons) and we both thought it was hysterical. I normally can't stand crude humor or even romantic comedies but I had no problems at all with this one because they're acting and it's supposed to be crude. To be honest, I have watched lots of PG13 movies that were *much* more offensive. Everyone has their own tastes and there is nothing wrong with that.
I'm sorry you found it offensive, but I loved it! I'm just sorry my friend and I didn't take my FI to see it, since I think he would have liked it too.And I sure can't complain about lack of eye candy! lol.
i havent laughed that hard in a while! it was crude but hilarious!
@danaadell - have you seen the Hangover? Funniest movie I've seen in a while!
Carri38707-I saw it. It was amazing. lol. Did you watch the credits? oh, man!
I thought the previews for this movie looked horrible... that's just my opinion though. And I'm not a big fan of Katherine Heigl... why is she even famous? She's not a good actress! Sorry, just my opinion, not saying this to offend anyone out there.

I went to see this movie yesterday with my sister, expecting to see a cute romantic comedy with Katherine Heigl. However, this was one of THE WORST movies I've ever seen! It was so low-brow, completely offensive and pointless. In the end, you were supposed to want Katherine Heigl to get together with Gerard Butler, but the whole time he was such a disgusting loser! There was nothing cute, funny or romatic at all. I was really disappointed because I thought this would be kind of a fun movie.
DO NOT see this movie!!
