Weddingbee boards

If you've been on the waiting boards for any period of time you may have noticed people talking about a "Waiting List". This is a list of all the ladies in this forum that have requested to be added, and are currently waiting for a proposal from their SO. When one of those ladies gets engaged she is crossed off the list and a blurb about her engagement is posted in the same list. Then everyone else in the list moves up a spot. The list is not sorted by the length of time someone has been waiting for a proposal. Instead it's by the order that people have requested being added to the list. 

Getting Added to the List

If you have an SO and are waiting for a proposal you can request to be added to the Waiting List either by responding to the current waiting list thread (titled something like: The MM/DD/YY Waiting List) or by PMing the current List Keeper. That will be whoever posted the last waiting list. 

Getting Crossed off the List

When you become engaged please post to the latest waiting list with the date of your engagement to help the list keeper with crossing you off.

List Clean Ups

Because we want the list to be timely and accurate we clean up the list twice a year on the following schedule:

• Early March: Clean up thread posted
• Early April: List is cleared
• Early September: Clean up thread posted
• Early October: List is cleared

If you do not respond either by PM or by responding to the clean up thread in time you will be removed from the list, and if you wish to be re-added it will be in the normal order of new bees, not back in your original spot. 

Official List Keeper

A new list keeper will be chosen when any of the following things happen:

• The current list keeper gets engaged
• The current list keeper wishes to retire from keeping the list

The selection of the new list keeper is up to the current list keeper to decide. In the past list keepers have been chosen simply by volunteering and other bees agreeing, or by writing test engagement announcements that other waiting bees vote on. 

An Interim List Keeper

An interim list keeper can be chosen if any of the following things happen:

• The current list keeper will be away for 2 or more weeks. They should request that someone post the list in the mean time. In this case the current list keeper should appoint or find someone to be the interim list keeper.
• The current list keeper does not post a list for 2 weeks in a row and cannot be contacted. In this case people can volunteer to update the list if they wish. The first person to volunteer should be appointed the interim list keeper. 

If the interim list keeper posts more than two waiting lists, and the current list keeper still cannot be contacted, or chooses not to continue, the interim list keeper should become the official list keeper.

• The first list was posted on 11/13/2009 
• The list was originally sorted by alphabetical order
• The first list had 39 waiting bees on it
• LittleMissMango was the list keeper who ordered the list based on time a bee had been on the boards
• After that intial ordering the list has been maintained by order that people ask to be added to the list
• tea has been #1 since the list was ordered by number
