The Waiting List:
Engaged Ladies!
miss_optimistic: On 5/14, following a trip to Charleston and then a day at the Renaissance Fair back at home, miss_optimistic became highly optimistic when her SO took her back to the spot where they had shared their first kiss. It was here that he dropped to one knee and proposed!
Scribbles: On 5/14, Scribbles found that she could finally say that something special happened in May when she and her SO took a walk along the beach to their special spot and he got (mostly) down on one knee among the rocky shore and proposed!
Paper Rose: On 5/19, while on vacation in Chicago, Paper Rose’s SO arranged for Willis Tower to stay open privately for them after hours and then he surprised her with a proposal on the top floor (to match his top of the world feeling for her!).
arandomparadox: A few weeks ago, arandomparadox was taken on a surprise treasure hunt that ended with a proposal in the park with family watching nearby!
MsFrancez: On 5/19, during the Closing Ceremony for her student organization where she first met her SO 5 years prior, MsFrancez was surprised when the Powerpoint presentation was interrupted by her SO. After getting up in front of the entire audience, he explained that he wanted to propose exactly one year before their planned wedding date in front of all of their friends, and he dropped to one knee!
brighteyedgirl: On 5/20, while dressed up and waiting for a taxi for her SO’s brother’s graduation ball, brighteyedgirl was pulled aside in the lobby of their hotel when her (now!) fiance told her that her ensemble was missing something and pulled out a ring!
smb4268: On 5/26, while on a surprise trip to Maryland to look at houses again, smb4268’s SO took her back to a house that she had previously fallen in love with. She was surprised to discover that he had taped room design ideas up in each room and had even bought the house and closed on it! To top it all off, she then discovered him down on one knee on the deck outside and returned home with a brand new fiance to go with her brand new house!
MissOwl: On 5/29, after almost 11 years with her SO, MissOwl was awoken from a nap to find him kneeling beside her with ring in hand!
OoOTifsterOoO: On (?), OoOTifsterOoO was surprised when her SO proposed in a gorgeous rose garden, which she now hopes will be her wedding venue! He followed it up by taking her out to lunch on the river, roses and champagne at home, and a surprise party with both of their families!
kamielynn: On 5/27, after having dinner with her family and her SO, kamielynn was asked by her SO to follow him so that he could show her the rock that he found at work. With her whole family watching and expecting it in the background, kamielynn got her proposal outside in the front yard!
MuchGreater: On 5/28, the tears wouldn’t stop flowing when MuchGreater couldn’t stop crying from happiness after her (now!) fiance dropped to one knee on a secluded beach!
Bostongrl25: On 5/28, after a 5 hour drive for a weekend getaway with her SO, Bostongrl25 walked into their hotel room to find flower petals all over the floor that led to more flowers and champagne. She offered to call the housekeeper to vacuum up whatever was on the floor and then turned to see her SO down on one knee with a ring!
wolfpackforever: On 6/2, wolfpackforever took the day off work and surprised her SO with a day of going to favorite places. This ended with a stop at their favorite stop on the lake, where she placed a ring in his hand followed by a photo of her daughter with a written note on the back from her daughter asking him to marry her mother!
Elleymae: On 6/3, Elleymae’s SO picked her up for a night out downtown and told her not to talk and just take pictures with his camera when he told her to. When he finally broke the silence, it was to ask her to marry him!
ticatica: On 5/28 (?), ticatica’s boyfriend surprised her with a mini vacation. After a day at a safari park, they traveled onwards to Bristol where he took her out to see a show. As they were returning to the hotel and walking by the river, he pulled her aside and dropped to one knee!
Summer82: On 6/6, as Summer82 was in the kitchen deciding on what to have for dinner, her SO walked over to give her a kiss and simply pulled a ring box out of his pocket!
Kant: On 6/8, Kant was shocked to get a call from the jeweler letting her know that her engagement ring was ready to be picked up. After picking it up she took it home to her boyfriend, who was lying on the bed in the dark with a migraine. As she handed him the ring box, he handed it right back to her and she became a newly engaged woman!
kimmy13: On 6/11, kimmy13’s SO took her on a surprise private cruise around Sydney harbor. After having a picnic on the water overlooking the harbor bridge, he got down on one knee!
Anxiouspeanut: On 6/11, while spending the day in Whistler, Anxiouspeanut was anxious no more when her boyfriend asked her to marry him after a walk around the village and a romantic dinner!
bas0587: On 6/16, after a long day at work, bas0587 was in the kitchen and pulled out their secret stash of money for their rainy day fund. She had intended to add money to it, but was shocked to find that there was an engagement ring hidden with it instead!
ruby26: On 6/16, while on the a road trip and visiting the same beach that her SO first told her that he loved her 6 years prior, ruby26 was learning how to skip rocks on the water when her SO gave her a rock that she didn’t want to skip: a ring!
kay01: On 6/18, while at her 10th year college reunion, kay01 and her SO took a walk around the campus to explore. Afterwards, while curled up under a tree on the lawn beneath the college’s clock tower, he proposed!
MrsT2b: On 6/15, MrsT2b’s SO took her to a seaside restaurant for a birthday lunch, followed by a walk on the beach. He told her that he had one more birthday present for her if she would turn around. When she turned back to face him, he was down on one knee with a ring in hand!
AntsyA: On 6/19 (?), AntsyA’s wait finally came to an end when her SO surprised her with a very special proposal!
jumpthegun: On 6/21, while on a cruise ship somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico, jumpthegun returned to her stateroom after dinner where her boyfriend pointed out the towel animal sitting on their bed. It was only then that she noticed a ring box sitting on top of it which led to a proposal at sea!
kayely88: On 6/25, kayely88 was surprised by her (now!) FI with a day at the spa. Afterwards, he picked her up and took her for a walk by the pond where they had their first date and topped it all off by asking her to marry him!

HayleyJane: On 5/19, after many talks about marriage and engagement, HayleyJane took the initiative and asked her SO if he wanted to change their Facebook status to “engaged”. He said “yes”!
mireisen: On (?), while waiting to enter a theme park to have a day of fun, mireisen was surprised when her (now!) fiance dropped to one knee!
noodle4hd: On 6/26, while at Glastonbury Festival and waiting for her favorite band to come onstage, noodle4hd’s SO asked her to marry him!
VegasSukie: On (?), VegasSukie was lying in bed while her boyfriend got up to make coffee. When he returned to the bedroom he told her that he had a surprise for her and told her to close her eyes. She thought that the surprise was a slice of cake, but instead opened her eyes to find a ring box instead!
mrs_a.valadez: On (?), mrs_a.valadez’s SO took her on an outing to the park where he set up his camera, told her the story of how they first met, and then got down on one knee with ring in hand!
everridiculous: On 7/1, everridiculous became engaged on Canada Day!
jesleigh: On 7/4, even though she was still sick, jesleigh was convinced to go out with her family and boyfriend to watch fireworks. After lighting a firework together, music started playing and jesleigh watched as the garage door rolled down with a sign attached by her boyfriend asking her to marry him!
Ms.Pink: On (?), while on a surprise trip to Charleston and a stay at a bed and breakfast, Ms.Pink’s SO took her for a walk by the water and asked her to marry him!
Bellanouva: On (?), Bellanouva arranged a BBQ with her friends and SO on the beach where she first met her SO two years ago. Before her friends arrived, her SO talked with her while sitting on a log near the water before proposing there on the beach!
jeannes85: On (?), after a weekend of hiking in the mountains and biking by the beach, jeannes85 and her boyfriend were sipping wine by the fireplace on the rooftop terrace of their hotel when he got down on one knee!
OmigoshesGrrrl: On 7/4, after watching fireworks, OmigoshesGrrrl expected her SO to hand her his phone to put in her bag, but instead he handed her a ring and a proposal!
Melanie422: On 7/4, while watching the Navy Pier fireworks on the beach of Lake Michigan, Melanie422’s SO couldn’t wait any longer so he dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him!
TeamEK: On 7/4, TeamEK’s SO asked her to ride to the top of Vail mountain on the gondola. He asked her if she would want to have a wedding there, and after she said “no”, he asked her if she would at least say “yes” to a proposal there instead!
Serpendipity: On (?), while on the side of a mountain in PA (the same place where they exchanged their first kiss), Serpendipity’s (now!) fiance surprised her with a proposal!
nutMeg13: On 7/9, while at her favorite place in the world (by a lake in a state park), nutMeg13’s SO tricked her by pretending to fall and twist his ankle, but came up with a ring instead!

Can you add me to the list? I'm accepting the fact that I'm in this for a haul, whether it be less than two months, or up to nine months.
I'm still extremely confused at how Sunrunner, who has been on the boards for 3 weeks and has 6 posts, has managed to make their way up to #8 on the list where Tobin used to be...
Shouldn't everyone have to work their way up the list instead of being allowed to skip ahead to the very spot that so many of the waiting ladies covet? How did she managed to get there Purplebee? Please explain!
Maybe I'm the only one who finds it strange that someone who has spent 1 year on the list would be under someone who has spent 3 weeks on the board and who knows how long on the list.
I have always been fair with the list. I do not think that I should have to explain this, however please check your inbox for an explanation.
The only messages I have from you are the ones previously where you did not clarify how sunrunner got into that position. All you said was that it was NOT typo. I think that as a member of the list I have a right to know how someone with so little time on the boards has made it to the top of the list. That does not seem fair to me.
It was not my place to explain, but since you continue to press the issue I have sent you a message with the explanation. It's not like deleting sunrunner will move you any closer to your own personal engagement. Relax please.
@purplebee: I understand that I will be no closer to my personal engagement. I also understand that this is a special list and that moving up on it has become a privlidge. This is one of my small joys in life and I felt that this was something that was incorrect and I chose to question the list keeper about it. There is no where that says that a member of the list cannot inquire about the list.
@MsBrooklynA: I thought once someone was crossed off then everyone moved up a spot but I guess not
it would make the most sense to do it that way
@miss sparkly cat: Wild guess here, but I'm guessing tobin was banned or left, and is now back as sunrunner so PurpleBee gave her her spot back on the list.

Why is sunrunner up there? If she hasn't been here long, she doesn't need to be up there. She needs to be at the bottom with everyone else who came later. Will one of the ones who just said add me to the list, move up to number 5 or so? Why is she "special" enough to move up?
If she isn't moved, whoever takes over the list can just move her down. I don't even see her posting anywhere.
How exactly does the list work? I figured that you're at the bottom and then once someone ahead of you gets engaged you move up. Why is everyone so upset?
@MsMamaBear:I completely agree, I wrote up higher that I'm guessing tobin left or was banned and is now back as sunrunner so purplebee gave her her spot back. If she was banned that would explain why there's a certain secrecy about this all... If a mod found it it was the same person they would be banned again. Just a guess, so if anyone actually knows please feel free to clarify!
@Mrs.Lonestar: That's how the list is supposed to work, we just want to know how sunrunner, who has been a member for all of 3 weeks is higher up on the list than some of us who have been on the list for over a year.
ETA: I wouldn't say I'm upset, I just would like to know why this one member was allowed to "jump ahead" so to speak when others who have been removed and then asked to be put back on the list have been moved to the bottom.

@MissBoPeep: I see, thanks for the explanation. It seems as if there are others that are upset by it, I didn't mean you :) I think you're right about the whole tobin/sunrunner thing
Personally I'd prefer not to be at the top because that would mean I've been waiting a long time...right? It seems like a fun way to form a little community not something to be taken so seriously. I mean I don't think our BFs are waiting to propose until we get to the top...not trying to be mean or anything...
@texasgirl29 - That's exactly what I was thinking!!!! I definitely do not want to be at the top - no offense to anyone who is, I just don't want to be.
@Mrs.Lonestar: When I was added to the list I didn't think I would want to get to the top either! Now that I'm at spot #17... let's just say I'm holding that spot with pride! Lol! I've been waiting a long time and I want to be recognized for that, dangit! 
O my goodness. This post may get unfavorable feedback, but I have to say it, some of you girls are making a pretty big deal about spots on "the list", and it's a little silly. It has no impact on anything having to do with the real world. It's a fun game that exists so that we can all congratulate the people who get "crossed off" every week, and wait for our opportunity to be "crossed off" ourselves and recieve our congratulations. Everyones individual number on the list means very little. I personally think that if PurpleBee made an executive decision to put someone at a higher spot on the list, she has a perfectly good reason for it. She's never done anything unfair previously. She's well aware of the websites policies, and if she's protecting someones anonymity I'm positive there is a perfectly good explanation for it. It just seems a little ridiculous to me that some of you are getting so up in arms about something so trivial.
@KoalaWalla: *shrugs* I really don't see anyone getting "up in arms." I think it's mostly just annoying to ask a question and be ignored.
@KoalaWalla: As a new bee I can see why you wouldn't understand why people would be frustrated by sunrunner's unexplained position on the list. As someone who has been waiting a very long time my position on the list is an example of how long I have been here and how long I have been waiting. We so often get very little to show for the emotional rollercoaster that is our waiting journey and this is a little piece of what we have "accomplished" in that journey.
I just feel that the list should be kept as fair as possible and if someone new has been raised to the beginning of the list then I would like to know what made her more qualified for that position then the bee's below her who have waited so long to be in that position.
