Today is a beautiful day.... hopefully it's at least getting him thinking about when he's going to pop the question!! It's so funny but my SO said the same thing. When I was getting antsy in January/February he sat me down and straight out said you need to relax because I already know that I want to propose to you in the spring or summer when the weather is nice. I don't want a gross winter proposal (we both hate winter and yet we live in NY... ahhhh). Our anni is in June so I'm with you on trying to keep quiet about it all until the 4th of July.... good luck to you on your warm weathered engagement!!!

We're in IL and I LOATHE the winter too. UGH. If it weren't so humid down south, I'd move in a heartbeat. I don't know what I am complaning about though, NY is prob worse!

Totally feel your pain on waiting through Jan and Feb. Those were the worst months ever.
I also hate winter I've been telling SO that we should totally move to flordia like his sister did. He said no because the rest of his immediate family is here and the only way he moves is if they do. So I guess I'm stuck here with the sucky winter. Although thankfully the wheather is nice today and this weekend high 70's so i'm excited. We discussed possible wedding months and it's definetely going to be in the summer. I want July b/c it's the month in between both our birthdays and the month of our anniversary already.
Just a note on the weather...Georgia is nice. :) Not to make anyone jealous, but besides the 2 random (and totally rare!) snow storms we got this winter, the temp. never droped below freezing...in fact, it's usually around 60 deg. ...I know this doesn't really have anything to do with the original post, but I'm not all too fond of winter either--we used to live in Chicago, and moved to GA for that very reason. :)
@cam18 My SO has been trying to convince me to move south for YEARS. He's interested in moving to Southern VA or possibly even northern NC... Me? I'm too much of a baby to be that far from my family. We already live 4 hours south of them (driving) and to move another 7+ hours away would just break my heart. I guess I'd rather be cold than far from my parents!!
This thread is cracking me up.. My boyfriend and I live in Boston but he's from California and he is CONSTANTLY whining about the weather! Hence our moving to California in August, lol. I love him, but he is such a whiner. We don't have a timeline for a proposal now (we're both graduating in a month, trying to get jobs) but hopefully within a year! Good luck to all you warm weather proposal ladies!
haha I think he's definitely doing it soon. You should let him plan on his own time! :) You haven't been together all that long and it seems like he is serious... If I were you I'd set August as a date in your mind to bring it up again. That gives him all summer and lots of warm months.
IL winters are enough to depress anyone! I loved my proposal and wouldn't change it for a thing, but we were laugh-shivering the whole walk back to our apartment and had to leap through snow and ice to get on the path. I thought I would hate that it was in winter, so I can see where he's coming from, but I look back on it so fondly because it was so totally us. Honestly, he's probably overthinking it and nervous or something - most likely because there is so much pressure on guys to create the "perfect" proposal from movies & TV even though most of those proposals are ridiculously public and embarrassing.

I totally understand!! Im in the exact same position. We set our date for Jan 2011 ( we are having a destination wedding in a tropical location). Its already April and I still havent had the "official proposal or the ring". We started talking about rings in June last year! Last fall he was waiting to ask my dad first.. he didnt get round to doing that till Christmas.. now he is waiting for nicer weather im guessing for a nice proposal.. its been in the 70's for almost a week. With the wedding date 9 months away i am really starting to get antsy...
I personally dont care about the weather.. just give me my damn ring lol.. its not like he can really suprise me at this point!! Im suspecting he is waiting for my birthday with is the first week in May. If by the end of the second week in May he hasnt proposed.. Im going to def say something.. so I think July 4th is good timing for you, if he hasnt said anything thing by then

Our relationship has been "different" to say the least. Got together last May, moved in together in August (everything fell into place so smoothly, it was almost uncanny).
We had half-jokingly mentioned marriage before, but started to get serious about it in the fall. We'd planned on an Oct 2010 wedding and he said he would propose by the end of the year... Well December came and went without a proposal.
I was a little bummed, but I completely understood. Some things just get said in the moment, and I didn't want to pressure him at all. Well... January and February passed and I was getting a little anxious, considering the supposed wedding was only in 8 months!
We had a heart to heart about all if it about a month ago (usually, when I brought it up, he desperately tried to avoid it). We are very "outdoorsy" people, and he said he really wanted to wait until the weather warmed up. And that's it. He has no questions about our relationship or marrying me, nothing. THE WEATHER was the only thing holding him back! Which, I kind of get, but kind of don't at the same time.
We also decided to wait to get married until October 2011 so we could just enjoy ourselves and our new garden this summer and not stress about planning.
Well, Bees..... It is officially the warmest day of the year today at 80 DEGREES!
Our 1 year anniversary is on May 21st.. But he has told me before he does not want me to suspect it, so I don't think he will do it then (or is he using reverse psychology!? lol)
I don't know.. I have been really relieved since we moved the date back a year, not so stressed out about planning without an official engagement... and I'm not bringing "the ring" up to him on a weekly basis ;)
I'm just afraid I'm going to start getting antsy... I'm giving it until the 4th of July before I really have a good sit-down with him to see what's up.
