So I got married a little over a week ago..... here is the background.

About two years ago I went through some tough times and lost about 35 pounds. After I got engaged I was determined to stay thin. I lost a little more and was SUPER thin from the wedding but honestly, i didnt try THAT hard. And I am grateful for that.....

But now for the eight days after I CANT STOP EATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO joke..... I just want food all the time. (hopefully not preggers :).... not yet.

Anyone go through this... is it cause the stress is gone. I am worried my clothes are going to stop fitting.

For the wedding i lost 25 pounds. But after the wedding in literally a month I gained 10 pounds and that was my breaking point. I am 30 pound over the weight i have ever been. I started to work out and am now on the atkins diet.

I figured I got the man I wanted but now I need to feel good for me. I need to feel attrative and maintain myself. Besides, we are goign to start trying at the end of next year and I want to be a healthy weight for that time.

It sucks because i LOVE food but i also need eat in moderation.

I totally did the same thing! My diet before the wedding was super rigid and I was exercising 7 days a week. As soon as the wedding was over it was no holds barred. I ate everything and anything and I went to the gym maybe once a week. I gained a quick 10 pounds, and hated the way I looked again. I'm back to dieting and exercising now, but I'm trying to keep it more sustainable. It's hard to stay motivated when there's not a big deadline like a wedding, but the thought of spending even more money after the wedding on bigger pants is enough to keep my butt in the gym!

I definitely gained a bit of weight, but it also came from starting work at a desk job. Still trying to figure out how to be active when confined to my desk for most of the day!

It's been 2 months since the wedding and I've gained 3-4lbs so far.

I really need to stop and turn this back around since at the wedding I still wanted to lose at least 15-20 more lbs to be at my "happy" weight.

I've been really enjoying cooking for DH (especially since I'm not working at the moment while I look for a job) and I've been feeling very domestic.

Plus it's getting to be cold, grey, winter time here and the days are SO short that it's hard to get motivated to do anything active.

I'm going to try to hang here weight wise through the holidays and then kick my butt into gear post new years.

I kinda went off the deep end for about a month after the wedding.  I probably lost about 30-40 lbs in the past year.  I can definitely tell that some of my pants are getting a bit tighter and that's not ok with me.  Now I'm back on track (well, as of yesterday) and have started tracking what I'm eating and working out again.  I've booked a boudoir shoot soon so that's my motivation!!!

My usuall weight was about 125, but I weighed 114 on the day I get married. Within 6 months I had gained 20 from wedding weight, 10 from regular. I am still trying to get it off, I do so good some days and am terrible the others.

I lost 20lbs a few months before our wedding and kept it off easily. On our wedding day, I gorged myself on all our incredible food...and then the next night DH and I went to The Keg and I gorged some more...and when we got home we polished off the top tier of our wedding cake in a matter of days...

And then we went on a cruise. A three week cruise. Buffets and all. I saw the inside of the ship's gym a grand total of twice during the time we were on the ship, and only once was to actually work out.

By some unfathomable miracle I only gained three pounds, but yeah, I ate like a monster. I've reined myself in since, but having had Canadian Thanksgiving in October and now with Christmas coming up, all the holiday goodies have gotten me eating a lot more than I should be.

I'm going to try and be good for the first few weeks of December, then go nuts for my week off, and then get back into gear. If anybody gives us cash for Christmas I'm getting myself a gym membership, because it's too miserable and dark to go running after work now.

Oh man ladies, I started my dieting and exercising for my up coming wedding in April. I have a feeling I will be right where you are.  When he first proposed for the first week all I wanted was to eat but then I went to ok, lets get these fiesty 20 lbs off.  Why is it so hard for us woman to loose weight. He stops drinking soda and loses 15 lbs, I have to stop eating to loose 15 lbs.

Ugh. Same boat here. I lost 13 lbs before the wedding and I've been married for 5 weeks and gained 7 back!!! Ahhh!! Granted we had a destination wedding in mexico, so I probably started packing it back on during the weeks there - but I haven't stopped. Its literally been an eating spree. My husband is back to hitting the gym hard and I've gone back once. The eating spree is officially over! There I said it.

    :)

I lost 30 pounds in the year before my wedding and I've gained almost 10 back already (2 months).  I went crazy eating all the food I wanted for 2 weeks on our honeymoon, and now the holidays are here and that doesn't help at ALL!

I am trying harder though, I REFUSE to gain back everything I lost!! It was such hard work to lose those pounds. :(

UGH. I've always struggled with my weight.  I was doing so well - I lost 20 lbs before the wedding, then gained about 10 back (before the wedding - yeah, I know)...and who knows now?  I refuse to weigh myself.  I'm really at a low right now.  I feel out of control.  Good news is, we've re-joined the gym (had cancelled because we went from month to month to Costco price) and I have some living social/groupon yoda deals to use.  First night back to working out is tonight.  I think that might help me make better food choices.  I hope.

i hate to say that your post makes me feel better knowing that i am not the only one!! i lost 20 pounds in the year before my wedding. i did it slowly and healthily by following a nutritionist plan. i bragged to all my friends all year about how i finally learned how to lose weight the proper year and now i would never gain it back (i was always a crash diet/yo yo dieter type before).  well, i did somethng similar to what linguo42 described. i gorged on my wedding day, as well for the next week at the all inclusive we stayed at.  i think i also gained 3 pounds through all that - which was fine because i had lost an extra 5 before my wedding that i didn't need to.  but. i didn't stop there  :(   now its 7 months post wedding and i have gained 15 of the 20 i lost. it feels very defeating and i am completely unmotivated.

anyway, i wish you the best. i don't have advice because i am still looking for my lost motivation.

Thanks SO much girls..... I thought I was out of control!!! and I did eat a large portion of the top of my cake by MYSELF.

The holidays aren't helping and I realized I was pms'ing. I have slowed down now and hopefully when I get back on a cruise ship (where I work) I will once again be too lazy to go to the buffet an walking up hundreds of stairs a day.....

I also realized my husband has quit smoking, which is wonderful.... BUT he seems to be eating a lot more, and sometimes I snack with him....urgh.....
