Hi guys! I have an appointment on sunday at the white dress in corona del mar.  Have any of you guys tried it out? Did you have a good experience?

I'm trying to stay under $1000, so I don't know if it is ridiculous to try to find a dress there.  I want a short/tea length dress (there is a melissa sweet vineyard/reverie trunk show there this weekend, hence the appointment).

    Any guidance would be appreciated.

I have not been there but I have heard it is on the expensive side.  A trunk show will help though, they usually take 10% off if you purchase that day.  I got my dress at The Dresser in Fullerton, they had the same dresses as other places I looked and were cheaper.

    Hi Oregon Bride-

I had an appointment at the White Dress in CDM way back in July.  They were very friendly and knowledgeable in the store but their dresses are on the more expensive end.  My budget was $1500 and they did not carry too many dresses that fell within that range.  It is a cute store though and they were certainly willing to sift through the dresses with me to find things near my budget.  I eventually bought my "first dress" (yes, I am a two dress bride, trying to sell my first one) from La Soie in Tustin (just up Jamboree).  They were also very nice there and had more dresses closer to my budget.  Good luck!

I purchased the dress there although I almost walked out without really looking at anything.  I had made an appointment to see a specific Modern Trousseau dress which they said they had.  I drove down from Manhattan Beach with my mother and sister (who flew in from NY) and my FMIL and FSIL. When we got there, they did not have the dress.  We almost left but figured since we were already there, we should look at what they have.  The dresses were on the expensive side.  However, we all fell in love with a particular dress which was so out of my range, it was funny.  However, they sold it as a sample (it was really in perfect condition) at about 50% of the price.  While still expensive, it was possible.  We told my father it costs less than it did and my mother put in the difference.  They were very helpful; courteous and we even had some champagne when we were done.

We also went to Mon Amie which had a much larger selection of dresses in various price ranges.  But, it was also more crowded.  They were also very nice to deal with.  The distance between Mon Amie and The White dress was about 10 minutes.

    Hope this helps.

I bought my dress from the White Dress in Corona Del Mar!  I had a good experience, but the dresses are a little more expensive.  I actually bought my dress during the Modern Trousseau trunk show and got a good deal.   They do have some samples on sale though, or at least they did when I was there.  Like olomanany, I'd reccomend making an appointment at Mon Amie as well since it is so close.  They are a big store, but have a good range of prices and designers.

thanks so much for advice guys. I knew it was on the spendier side but was hoping that because I'm looking for a short dress the costs might be lower (I know they are often sold as "reception dresses" and are significantly less than traditional long dresses.)

I may look at mon amie as well- or I may flee orange county and get back to venice (and things as scary as looking for a wedding dress) as soon as possible!! :)

OregonBride can I recommend not going to Mon Amie. I've purchased 2 dresses from them (one for a deb ball and one as a BM) and had a horrible experince both times. If I can recommend a nice salon I would go to La Soie in Tustin. I bought my first dress there (long story) and they had a TON of very pretty dress for under and around $1k.
If you go there ask for Dannie, she and I go to school together :)

I purchased my gown at The White Dress!!! The store has such a great selection of all price ranges and the staff is so helpful. I purchased a Pattis gown for $1600. It is definetly a place to try to find your gown.

Haven't been to The White Dress but I got my dress at Mary Me Bridal and had an AMAZING experience. My consultant was AZI. She was super not pushy and super patient. They had tons of dresses in your price range. I wanted to stay around 1000 and ended up falling in love with one that was even less expensive. The lady that was working the bridesmaid dress store was awesome also!
