I was browsing Gawker and saw this article:
“Last night’s entry of Logo’s What? documentary series focused on objectum sexuality, which describes humans with romantic feelings for inanimate objects.”
This video relates to another documentary called “Married to the Eiffel Tower” which can be seen in five parts on YouTube:
After watching the videos, I’m still not sure how to feel. I never want to judge anyone else’s sexuality, because I can only imagine how hard it must be to have these kinds of feelings and feel alone in the world. I have to say though, for someone who has never been exposed to this viewpoint, it’s really bizarre. There are women profiled who have had “romantic relationships” with a church organ, a bannister, a fence, a Monopoly board, an archery bow, the American flag, a drum set, the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, the Berlin Wall, a covered bridge, a ferris wheel, another amusement park ride, the Empire State Building, the Twin Towers, etc, etc, etc.
There are some really uncomfortable scenes, like a woman having a sexual encounter with a theme park ride, a woman having a sexual encounter with the Eiffel Tower during daylight hours with tourists milling around (straddling a strut while wearing a skirt with nothing underneath), a woman getting into an argument with a docent at the Berlin Wall museum because she said that she went through similar tough experiences, etc.
