I'm from NEPA too! My wedding is a week from tonight so things are crazy. I live in the greater Wilkes-Barre area, and my wedding is in Lackawanna County! Best of luck to you both!

Hello fellow nepa brides!
I will be getting married on October 25, 2008 up in Honesdale, Pa. Our reception will be held at Ehrhardts Waterfront Resort! I am originally from Shamokin, Pa and my finace is from Honesdale, Pa. we both currently live in Salisbury , Maryland, so to say planning this wedding has been alittle difficult. Both of our families still live in Pa, So hence why we chose Pa. I can't wait! Please any info please let me know....like i still need to find a place to get my hair and makeup done.

I'm from NY but am getting married at Ehrhardt's Waterfront Resort on May 24, 2009 - great location! :-) So my wedding is in NEPA even if I'm not! :0)
Where is the Ehrhardt's watherfront resort? Is it in Wilkes-Barre?
I know of a place called waterfront but I don't know if it is the same one.

They are 2 different places! I have never been to the Ehrhardt's one, but The Waterfront is right in WB. We had many school banquets there.
Ehrhardt's Waterfront Resort is in Hawley, PA. It's on Lake Wallenpaupack....... www.ehrhardts.com

Congrats new brides and brides-to-be. I am just starting to learn first hand about how stressful it all can be, especially without a Mom or other relative who wants to jump in and help. Anyways, anyone out there know anything about Heart Lake Lodge as a ceremony/reception cite? It's in Jermyn, PA, Lackawanna county. Or any other suggestions? Best of luck!
So glad to see there are other brides in NEPA!! Am having a hard time trying to find a venue in PA that I am in love with and that fits my budget. I requested a proposal from The settlers Inn in Hawley, PA but they seemed to have not remembered the budget I gave them and came in 1500 dollars more and the amount of food they give is significantly less than other places.
Any ideas for a garden type venue with good food would be greatly appreciated. We are not looking to go over the top just want a fun time with good food, scenic, and not expensive! lol am I asking too much??

I'm not there now but I went to college in Williamsport and my sister lived in Scranton for years so I am very familiar with both areas.
If I lived in NEPA I would totally register at Live With It!
@maremu -- Sigh... I spent so many of my summers at Heart Lake with my childhood friend, fishing, picking blueberries and tubing! Aww I miss it now :)

I live in NEPA now, but I'm a destination bride ... Colorado baby! I think all us NEPAs tried to meet up once ... too bad it didnt work out.
I wonder if we should try the meet up again... just with better planning LOL
We live in NYC now, but my fiance and I are both from NEPA! Both sets of parents still live there, but we are searching everywhere from Hudson Valley all the way down to Philadelphia for a venue! I can't seem to find many beautiful rustic venues in our price range!!! Any ideas?
Just discoverd this forum and now I may be up all night! My FI and I were scheduled to get married at The Barn @ Boone's Dam in Bloomsburg, PA however, it was flooded and we have moved our ceremony and reception to a local barn in Stillwater, PA which is about 20 min. from Bloomsburg. Best of luck NEPA brides :-)
@CountryBee: I have heard about wedding receptions in that barn. It is soo pretty. Do you happen to have contact information for the owners?
NEPA BRIDE AS WELL! Anyone have any good hair/makeup suggestions??? Our wedding is on a Sunday and now we're having some issues with paying a salon to stay open on a day they are closed on top of their regular rate. Thanks Ladies!!! =D
I am a NEPA bride as well! I am getting married in St. Pauls church in scranton and having my reception at the cultural center.

I went to Cherly Studio II on thedore st in north scranton. The girls are awesome, and everyone looked really beautiful. I can give you a link to my pics if you want.

Hello NEPA brides! I am getting married at the Mon Cherie Garden in Clifford. I'm from Old Forge and my FH is from Carbondale Township. I have been to so many weddings in the last couple years I think I've been to one at every local venue, except mine!
