Ugh the other day my daughter dozed off on the couch and I was catching up on my news online when all of a sudden a LOUD obnoxious car commercial blasted on when my mouse wandered over it. She woke up crying, I lost my chance for some coffee and relaxation. This doesn't happen to me on WB, but other sites all the time.
Boooooooooooooooo!
Like the others, I use an adblocker.
I haven't noticed them on here... then again I keep my sound on mute at all times for these reasons :)
I haven't seen anything like that! I'm using a Mac thou, so don't really ever see pop-ups.
The ads are what keep the site free. Pengy wrote a whole article about them on another site that made me actually remove my adblocker. We, as the Hive, can make some requests about no sound ads, but really they are what is paying for the site, without the ads - No WeddingBee.
@tksjewelry: Which is why I agree that we DO need SOME adds. I am 100% okay with adds. Just not the specific ones that blast commercials through my speakers.
I don't have an ad blocker and I've never had any of the ads on WB make a noise at me. That's weird!
i've never noticed them either, but I usually have the sound off. Of course I have been on other sites with speakers on and it is very annoying. It makes me avoid whatever they are trying to sell.
I don't use Adblocker but I do have Java blocked on my computer which prevents ads like that. I do agree that ads with sound are annoying though!

Seriously, this is really beginning to upset me. There is no way I am the only one who has had to put up with these video adds with sound. Lysol is the one I get the most. I have to rush to mute it or figure out where the heck it is coming from when I have multiple windows open. It is getting rediculous. I get 4-5 a day and it is honestly making me think twice before logging on. I use my speakers for other things while online and shouldn't have to freak to find this stupid add so I can continue what I was doing or turn my speakers off to come on the boards. I understand we have to have adds. I am 100% okay with them because they keep the site free. These videos with sound? I am NOT okay with.
