wow! you have been a busy bee..lol. awesome job! but isnt too soon to be sending them out next week if your wedding is in june??
Congrats!!! That's a lot of hard work :) Our wedding is June 12 and I'm steady cranking them out! I hope to get them in the mail by the end of March!! Woo Hoo!
nope - I read everywhere "4 months" to send out invites - plus I put on the RSVP's I'd like them back by April 31 - that gives them 2 months to send back and us 2 months to prepare! :D
I really need to figure out exactly how much I've spent on these...so far my totals are:
Outer envelopes - 40 envelopes with 40 cards - $10 each x 2 = $20.00 for envelopes
RSVP envelopes - 96 total - 8 per pack at $.25 each (gotta love sales!!) = 12 packs = $3.00 total
Brown Cardstock - 1 12x12 piece per folded envelope - 75 total x $.29 each (always bought on sale) = $21.75
Orange Cardstock - got 2 pieces from each orange 8x11 (includes front diamond from scraps) - 75 total x $.19 each - $14.25
Ribbon - used 2 spools - $2 each = $4.00
Invitations - printed off at CVS - $.19 for 90 (printed extra) = $18.xx (with tax)
TOTAL for 75 invites: about $83!!! :D
course this doesn't include postage...THAT's going to suck!
Next up - finish all my DIY centerpieces (most everything's been bought...) - create my DIY programs - create my DIY candy bar favors.
Those are awesome! I love them! I can't believe how inexpensive they ended up either.
wow...4 months! i guess i gotta get my butt in gear with my invites! awesome job....they look amazing....you worked really hard.
Thank you guys SO much for the kind words! Yeah - it took me a long time but mainly cuz I'd work on them a little bit at a time, lol. But they are done! Now I just wish there was some way I could put on them "handmade by me"...oh well though.
Those look awesome, I can't believe you made them! I will say I've read in several different places (and my aunt whose doing our invites runs a stationary store said the same thing) that it's usually standard to send the invites out 4-6 weeks before the event, so I don't think there's any need to rush to send them out!
Wow! That is forever! Congrats on the finishing of them, they look amazing!
WOW! That is an awesome job. It's a great thing that you had the time to put this together and you did it early. Less stress on you. I bet you can't wait to send those bad boys out!
That looks great!!!! Congrats!
Ok, first off your invitations are beautiful...
Secondly, my name is Karianne!!! Spelled a little different from yours, but I've never known someone with the same first name as me!!! Cool!! I'll have to tell my mom...
well hello karianne!!!!! :D I don't think I've ever met another one either!
You did an awesome job. BTW..you forgot to block out your new last name in the middle band part.
Yeah I realized that - but didn't feel like messin' with it. oh well. :p
Wow, 9 months. I give you credit. I would have quit after nine days. :-)
I admit, I've never read anywhere to send invites out that early. Our RSVP date was 3 weeks before our wedding, and we sent them out 6 weeks before.

Ok - so about 9 months in the making - and I am finally finished with my DIY invites! I've been working on these seriously since May (I think that's when I started...) of last year.
I created a template for the folded envelopes and THAT is what took the longest. But I also cut out and glued the orange insert which the photo invite is attached to, inside - I used scrapbook ribbon tape to put the ribbon on the fold inside every envelope - I cut out every diamond and glued each front which has his and mine names on the front of the envelope.
I created, in Photoshop the Invite, the RSVP, the Hotel accommodations and the directions.
I found the PERFECT size envelopes for the RSVP's and Even the outter envelope, I used a stamp to create the lines in which all of the addresses are (hand)written upon. Here is my final product!
I am taking to get them metered at the post office this saturday morning and will be sending them out next week!
