On a whim tonight I tried on my favorite pair of jeans and capris that have been packed away for 3 years. The last time I wore them they were really tight and the last time I tried them on they barely fit over my hips at all.
Tonight —- THEY FIT!
I’m down 19 pounds, my lowest in over 3 years. I have 10-15 to go, but I’m soooo happy! I’m wearing the jeans to work tomorrow!
I’m extra happy because not only are these my favorite jeans and capris, but they aren’t really replaceable. The jeans are from Gap and are a dark wash with pin stripes. Hard to picture, but I’ve gotten a ton of compliments on them before. And the capris are Eddie Bauer in a fit they don’t make anymore. The cut is perfect on me.

Thanks everyone! I’ve been working hard!
I had my son March 2011 and everyone said “9 months to gain the weight, 9 months to lose it”. Then in December I realized that I was still 15 pounds heavier than when I got pregnant.
So I committed to tracking everything I ate. When I started realizing how many calories were in the food I was eating, especially little snacks, I was astounded. So I’m using MyFitnessPal on my phone. I log everything I eat, every day, no matter if I’ve made bad choices or not. It is so hard not to go over every day. I eat a lot of veggies for crunch and fruit for sweets.
Also, I make sure to eat at least 1250-1300 calories a day, and eat most of my exercise calories to make sure I have enough fuel to keep burning calories.
For exercise, I’m running 3-4 days a week and am riding the stationary bike we have at home the other 2 ish nights a week. For the first month I was really good with doing Jillian Michael’s workouts, but I’ve been bad lately and haven’t done one in a while.

congrats! when i started losing weight i didn’t even measure myself or try on any old clothes. on a whim, i grabbed a pair of jeans out of the closet. they were size 4 or 27″ (can’t remember which) and they fit! i haven’t worn them in over 5 years! i want to lose a few more pounds and be back to a 26″ (i know i will never be a 25″ again). it feels good to be able to go shopping in your closet again. the worse feeling is having to spend money on bigger sizes.
