Her sitter had her in a cedar chest, and the sitter has had issues with child abuse over the years, her three year old son disappeared in 87 and was never found and she spent about 80 days in jail of a 10 year sentence for her stepdaughter's abuse case. the mom is also arrested though, but the baby is perfectly fine and healthy.
@HB: her parents woke up on halloween and she was gone. she slept in the same room as them, everyone thought she was dead.

Bizarre backstory I think. The mom's older son disappeared years ago? I wish I knew more about this story.
for some type of neglect or something like that. the sitter was her mom's sister. it always sounded really fishy the way she disappeared when she couldn't walk or crawl and the fact that she slept in the same room as her parents.
Wow, I hadn't heard this story before, but I'm so glad that they found the baby. Like Mrs. DG, I also noticed that the backstory from this family seemed a little weird.
very bizarre back story but i am so glad that she's okay!! she looks perfectly fine. now the thing that freaks me out is she was in a sealed cedar chest, umm wtf?! she could have suffocated... they said she was fed though, but she had a dirty diaper.
This is the first I'm hearing of this as well. I agree the family story sounds so weird. I was going to say it is so scary to have a sitter with a background of abuse and not know about it, but the fact that it was the mother's sister, she had to know. So it just seems weird to me that you would trust a child with someone knowing that.

the whole thing is weird!! Theres been reports of child abuse since the baby was two weeks old. I'm glad they found the baby but I hope she's not gonig back to her parents.

I think they suspect the mother because she stated that the baby went missing at 8am but she didn't call the police until 11am. Or something.
