Urgh. I just need to rant a little.

FH and I went to order our rings quite early in our engagement - we have the compulsive need to get things done. Well I'm SO glad we did this as now the jewellery store where we ordered our wedding bands has lost MY wedding band order! We ordered way back in September and were told that FH's ring would take 2 weeks to come in and my ring would take about 6-8 weeks to come in because my ring was being made to a custom mold - I wanted it to be 4mm wide and the mold they have was 5mm. It's amazing how much larger 1mm looked with my e-ring! So my ring was a special order whereas FH's ring was a standard order. The manager (who served us) gave us a promised date when they would definitely have the rings in by of Christmas Eve.

Well Christmas Eve came and went and we still hadn't gotten called about my ring. FH's band is safely tucked away in the store's safe after it came in 6 days after ordering. Since Christmas Eve we've been in to see the store twice. Yesterday they called the manufacturing company and they couldn't get hold of their special order department. They called me today and basically told me that there's no record of my ring having be placed as an order anywhere EXCEPT for the receipt that FH and I have.

Now they've already charged us for the rings. And FH is really upset because we chose a mismatching and yet matching set (his is white gold-yellow gold-white gold, mine is meant to be the inverse of that) and it really meant a lot to him to have that.

So now I have to wait until Monday when their manufacturing company come back from the holidays so they can ask how long it'd take to make a new ring for me. Argh!

I've waited 4 months for this ring - I don't want it to come down to 2 months before the wedding and having to get a wedding band that I don't like and that doesn't match my husbands. I really really loved this ring and I know they can do it for me. But we also wanted to get our wedding bands engraved for each other... ARGH. I think I'm just stressing too much over this.

FH's been under a lot of family stress lately and is currently in mourning so although he knows that I'm not happy I don't want to burden him with trivial "I want my wedding band!" conversations at the moment. We're going to the store together on Monday and I'm going to look at a nearby jewellers to see if they can make me a similar ring. Just... need.... to.... rant... and... breathe...

    Thanks for listening Hive!

Sorry about that hassle.  It's a good thing you're on top of things and that you made your order so early on.  It's really depressing when something so important to you is messed up by others.  Hope it all works out.

Wow, and to think--the MANAGER took the order too? What a mess. Definitely make them give you a discount for the inconvenience. Make sure to review their store online--and once they've filled the order, let them know that it will be reviewed.

:) Thanks ladies. I'm just so annoyed! Thankfully this is only 1 of 2 big things that's gone wrong or awry with the wedding planning so I'm super happy about that - I just can't deal with this one very well. And when we placed the order the manager called the manufacturing company! Right in front of us! So they ought to know! Urg. I'm not going to let myself be annoyed anymore.... at least until Monday ;)

@VioletVeil - Oh don't worry. We're spreading the news like wildfire amongst our friends and family. FH's cousin was thinking of going there to get a ring for his girlfriend (another possible engagement! Yay!) and we told him to shop elsewhere. It's just not worth the hassle! Thankfully the manager remembers taking our order way back when so he's been really easy to deal with so far - although that remains to be seen after I start asking for discounts on Monday!

So, updated news, because I'm ill and just appalled at what's happened.

FH went to pick up his ring today. He was served by the manager. The manager goes to find FH's ring. The manager comes back SANS ring! That's right, they've lost FH's wedding band too.

It's just so laughable! Apparently after we left the last time we went the manager went and found FH's ring in the safe and put it in a safe place because he knew we'd be coming back soon. And apparently my ring has arrived in store at some point (although the manager said he never saw my ring) and the fact that both rings have gone missing means that it's quite probably that they're both together in a safe place.

Argh. Just ARGH. So now they've promised it to us by the end of the week (FH's ring) and the end of the month (my ring). The manager is making it his first priority. The manager actually said "please, feel free to give us as bad a rating as you want on the customer webform". I'm just so shocked!

Oh God that's so hideous! I'm so sorry this has happened to you guys, particularly at such a bad time. I'd be milking all this for ALL it's worth. They've gotta give you a MASSIVE discount for this!! I hope you both end up with your rings asap!

I've just finished filing a customer support form on their website. OMG! I just can't quite believe it. It's all quite laughable. FH told the manager that he wouldn't tell me that the store had lost his ring and apparently the manager said, "no please tell her. I'll give her the knife!".

Sadly no discounts cause they have a sale on, but then I'm not sure how hard FH pushed for them.
