It happens! I love my ring too and I still see some of the rocks women have and get some ring envy! In fact, since getting my ring (christmas day) I think I notice EVERY SINGLE RING on EVERY womans ring finger LOL Its kind of funny really.

Ha! I totally agree. When I got my 1 ct solitaire, I said “WOW! I’ve got a ROCK!!” Every now and again, I see photos on here of healthy 2 ct – 2.5 ct rings and think “I can’t wait to get that!”

But just a few months ago, I tried on a 3 ct ring and thought it looked foolish! (The jeweler put it on my finger “for fun”)

I tried on the 1.2 ct in the store and said “oh! Anything between 0.5 and 1.2 ct is fine with me!” so I try to remember this declaration – It’s fine with me. It’s perfect for ME!

The reverse happens too, for size, for me. Went for drinks with some of my girls on the weekend, and compared to theirs, it looked so big it seemed almost tacky-big. Other times I can feel like you did.

It never lasts long though, either way. Luckily we chose the size based on what we liked best on my finger.

However, I always feel the same way (positively) about having chosen very good quality!

I just upgraded and I’m already having this problem too!  Its the forums!!  Those ladies with those 2+ carat center stones are making me drool!  Ugh ring envy!  Go away!

I have a  tiny .25 ct and I honestly feel like .7 would be my magic measurement. If I stay off the bee and away from married/engaged friends for a few days, I feel like my ring is PERFECT- couldn’t imagine functioning in anything bigger. But then I come on here and then look down at my hand as I type and I’m like “wow….my ring looks like it will look like theirs when it grows up!” Lol. I think you’re right. Every now and then I need to just get away from the forums and remind myself of how much I loved my ring when FI presented it to me.

@dlbaqua:  Did you upgrade or did you get a ring for a different reason (if you don’t mind me asking)?

Mine is a 1 carat, and I honestly wanted something smaller! I kind of have reverse ring envy…I love all the ladies on the boards that post their .25-.75 rings! I told DH I want to ‘upgrade’ to something smaller! Haha. To me, my ring looks a little ‘big’ on my hand…I want something dainty/delicate.

AND I just made a post about this yesterday too. I have a .5ct center stone with amazing specs and yet I wish I had a 1ct moissy instead. Its crazy lol and FH would be so hurt if I asked him to upgrade my diamond he chose for me. Instead of a plain band, I’m thinking of getting a blingy (2mm) moisy wedding band. We are going to the mall to see how a blingy band would look next to my (smallish) e ring before I decide. I just cant believe us women sometimes lol.

Mine is .7 and I think it’s perfect. My FSIL has a (I’m guessing) 1.5 and it just looks too big for me.

hahaha, yup.  Started with 1ct, and now I wear 4ct…  It is a sickness.
