I’m not sure how I feel about this veil. I think I kinda love it, and I think it would go well with my dress (see below), but is it an odd choice? Could I regret it down the road. Please help me decide! I’ve been a total psycho with trying to pick the perfect veil with my dress. Thanks!

I like thinly edged veils, but that’s just me.

@McBezel: I actually think it’d be lovely! It would give a nice accent to your gown, while still leaving focus on how gorgeous you will be. 🙂 Beautiful dress, by the way!

I like the veil – but I don’t think it would go with your dress.
Your dress has layers with lots of very delicate edges. It’s up to you of course! I just think the veil looks good on that model because the trim is uniform between the veil and dress

@skippydarling: do you have any suggestions of style? i’m tempted to have a drop veil with clean edge, plain, no embellishments, but a part of me wants something a little different

@PacificMrs: thanks! although i’m almost positive that isn’t my actual dress (marisa gowns are impossible to find stock photos of) but its almost identical

I think it works well with how simple the dress in the photo is. Like PP said, your dress has more going on so it may not look right. Also, with such thick ribbon, you would have to make sure you got an exact color match to the dress, a thinner ribbon woulnd’t be so visivle and you could probably get away better with being slightly off.

@skippydarling: +1 That’s exactly what I was thinking.
OP, there are lots of options for veils that have just a little detailing around the edges and that would mesh well with the airiness of the ruffles of your dress. Mine had just one line of crystals along the edge which I loved, but I’ve also seen some other really pretty ones with just a thin line of ribbon or piping.

I agree that you may have issues with matching color, but i think that a satin edge would work just fine with your dress! It looks like your dress has a mixture of light layers and some satin layers so i think that would really accentuate the satin layers a bit more.

@CoCoCourtney: oh wow great point about the color matching. thanks for bringing that to my attention
Anyone else have any suggestions for what may look good? I’m desperate for advice

@McBezel: Yay for a fellow Marisa bride! I agree with most of the others that this veil is made to match that gown and I think it would look too heavy with your soft dress. I wore a drop veil and loved it so I vote for that option 🙂 Sometimes something plain can be just as striking in its simplicity as something bold or sparkley

Thanks for all your advice.
Howabout this veil? I was thinking of having no trim instead? Help me

I think that veil is incredible, but my veil has a big pleated edge, so there ya go.
HOWEVER, I think it is way too much for your dress. Your dress is very busy/ruffly/textury and the veil will only take away from that.
I would do a drop-veil with a cut edge.

I prefer the thinner trim. I think the thick trim distracts from the dress.

@McBezel: LOVE the 2nd veil you posted–with or without the trim!
