Anyone know a good work out for the thighs? Mine have started rubbing together. It's painful to wear skirts and my cotton pants for work or jammies? FORGET IT!!! They get holes in the inner thigh within 3 months. It's getting out of control.

    Any thoughts?

Cardio and diet will decrease the size of your thighs!

If you do toning exercises the increase in muscle will actually make them bigger if there is no corresponding weight loss!

For toning with weight loss lunges and plie squats are GREAT for the inner thigh region! As well as old school jane fonda 80s style leg workouts work wonders!

    Good Luck!

Squats and lunges!  I noticed a huge difference in my thighs after a few weeks of doing them.  When it feels like they're getting too easy, try holding some light weights while doing them.

I would also do some plie to work the insides of your thighs.  Hope that helps.

Thanks, Mrs. Martin. I'll be starting that pronto. I need to start eating better anyway.

Try doing yoga...or pilates...it will make your legs more lean/muscles longer and then once.....but yeah lunges and sqauts are great...or plyometrics

Do you have access to a gym? I hear spinning/cycling classes do wonders for glutes and legs.

I think the advice above is great. A combination of cardio and leg workouts should be pretty effective, I think: leg press, quad extension, hamstring extension... I don't know the names of all the machines, sorry.

I've started doing squats and lunges and noticed a big difference. It just helped tone them and pulled everything in.

Kickboxing classes... Oh, god, when I started out... maaaaaaaaaaaaan I could barely sit for a few days because my quads were soooooooooo sore/tired. and my arms, and my abs, and my butt....  :P

Also - if you can find a "fit tease" or a pole dancing class...  They work wonders for all over.  The one I used to take was a combination pilates/yoga/cardio/strength training/dance.  And it's fun & makes you feel saucy!  I always noticed a little shimmy to my step & more self confidence after taking the class.  :)  And Mr. Meepsie hasn't complained about my new skillz.  ;)

I'd say to try doing a lot of squats and lunges.  Also, you might want to check out a spinning class if you can.  I feel like that's really shaped up my legs.  And pilates is great for making your legs look long and lean!

I agree that lunges and squats are the best!  Don't use the machine in the gym where you have to push your legs together, that actually bulks up your inner thighs instead of slimming them down.

Oh and love spinning and pilates!

Thanks, Ladies! = ) I don't have a gym right now, but when we move, the place we are hoping to get has a gym!

@MissAsB-Thanks! That's good to know! Though, I'm pretty sure if I tone them up, that'd work just fine. I'm just really out of shape. lol. No pushing my legs together for me (that sounded wrong!)

I have been thinking about taking a yoga class. I just haven't found anywhere I would be inerested in going.
