Situations like this:
-Man makes bed.
-Man is proud of making bed.
-Man shows girlfriend. Says “Look girlfriend! I made bed!”
-Girlfriend praises man because she likes this new behavior and would like it to continue (man is very messy).
-Man then proceeds to jump onto bed, laying across it in such a way that newly made bed is completely destroyed and all pillows are now on the floor.
I can’t decide if I’m highly amused by this or a little irritated. I just….I don’t get it. He does it EVERY SINGLE TIME he makes the bed. Why would you even bother to put forth the effort if you’re just gonna screw it up anyway?
Is there anything your SO does that you don’t think you’ll ever understand?

This isn’t a “man” general thing…but my FI leaves his giant size 13 shoes right in front of the back door which is also the entry to our bathroom. So without fail I stub my toes every time I walk into the bathroom. There’s a space to set them to the side and I move them almost every day since I bump into them but he doesn’t learn ><

DH throws his dirty clothes on the floor, literally two feet away from the hamper. When I asked what was so difficult about putting clothes in the hamper he told me the lid that’s on the hamper. So I took the lid off. Nothing’s changed.
SMH… I love that man.

I dunno, it doesn’t seem that hard to understand – Man is messing with you!

My FI will pile dishes into the sink (even if rinsed or not in need of rinsing) rather than put them right into the dishwasher. He basically makes it more trouble because then there is a sink completely full of crap that needs to be moved into the washer one foot to the left. I’ll never understand it.

@littlemisst08: OMG mine does the exact thing, except it’s a laundry basket with no lid and his clothes are all over the place. It’s like he is target shooting for the basket and some make it in, but most scatter in a pattern with the basket at the center of the area.
I guess it’s better this way than the other way around. I once had a male roommate who was so insanely tidy that one sink in the dish made him very upset.

@adoc86: OMG this!!! I came home from work today (Hubs was home all day) to a counter FULL of dishes, more than a load. WTF. He’s lucky I love him or else I’d loose my marbles.

Mine is really particular about his laundry. He did laundry the other day and I offered to help him fold it and he told me not to. We got into this whole discussion about how he will never let me do or fold his laundry, and it will always be separate from mine and we will have separate hampers (which he thinks is one of my “redneck” words) when we move in together.
It was strange. Of all things to be particular about…
He also happens to be the most domestic man I’ve ever met. He can cook and clean better than I can. I teasingly call him my “househusband”.

@SockJunkie: My DH does that, too!
He also loveees to cook, but NEVER rinses the stuff he cooks with or at least leaves it to soak. O_o

@littlemisst08: Haha I was going to say that about my fiance.
Oh and using all the towels and not replacing them so I have to run through the house ruining my nicely shaven legs with stubble from goosebumps.
We have a small square hamper in our bedroom, no lid or anything. This hamper is two feet away from the shower. and about 6 inches from the counter. He always manages to throw his clothes in that 6 inch space in between the hamper and the counter instead of making it in the Two foot by two foot hamper, every single time. I’ve taken pictures as evidence of this

I’m so glad I’m not alone! My FI didn’t even have a hamper before I spent last summer with him (we are in an LDR). That’s right – NO HAMPER. He’s been throwing his clothes on the floor for nearly a decade now! I told him he had to have a hamper before I came to visit, and he got one. Every so often he’d still toss his clothes on the floor, but he’s getting better.

@littlemisst08: I share this same pain! It drives me crazy!

@littlemisst08: Move the hamper to the spot he throws them, even if it’s a super inconvenient location. Let it sit there for 2+ weeks until he gets used to putting his clothes in the hamper. Then VERY, VERY slowly move the hamper inch by inch until it’s in the location you want.

@mepayne: I can’t even touch the laundry in our house. The first time FI saw me mixing darks with brights, he nearly had a heart attack. Now I’m not allowed near the washer and he takes care of all that. Not that I mind… 😛
