My dog that I got from a shelter hates...

My 2 labs hate the vacuum,
the basement,
and water! They are labs, and hate water!!!
My beagle loves everyone and everything!
My dog doesn't like strangers to touch him, especially with two hands. He was from the city shelter as a stray and we suspect he was abused by his previous owners.
My parents dog (I live at home) doesn't like people or other animals at all. He is also from a city shelter but was an owner surrender. About a month ago he "bit" a girl while on a walk with my parents. (I say "bit" because he tore her jacket and left a small puncture wound in her thigh she didn't even know about until the paramedics told her it was there). He is no longer allowed to go outside of our property :/
ETA: my dog hates water, too! He is half lab so we always thought it was a little odd :p
busy roadways! Going home every day from work, she won't go near the road and I have to drag her over there to get to the car to go home!

-when people don't give him all of the attention (even if i give my husband a hug, he comes to claim his attention)

he was brought back twice before my husband got him and kept him b/c of his crazyness, so i think that screwed with his head. but we still love him!
The ice cream truck! We have the one that does the little song and then says 'Helloooooo!' and our pup freaks out every night when it comes around the block.

The vacuum
My lab loves the vacuum (German Shorthair is afraid of it) and he makes me use it on him (?) I know that sounds awful but he loves it, he thinks it is fun. The other dog will hide, and he will roll onto his back and wag his tail...
@cbee: Hahaha - our dog loves when I use the vacuum or swiffer. He chases them around the room :)

@MarzipanMrs.: You should try giving him a little treat whenever the truck comes by, and then he'll eventually get all giddy when he hears the music just like a little kid. And at least he'll never beg you for money for the ice cream truck.

The puppy is neurotic. She barks at the most random things and it is so annoying. Yesterday she barked at a tree stump and the day before she barked at someone's potted plant that had tipped over. She doesn't like fireworks either.
The puppy loves it when I shower. She used to stick her head in and lick the water off the side of the tub. Gross.
The older dog refuses to go out in the rain.

A few months ago, the squirrels were driving my puppy crazy. They were baby squirrels and they were so bold! They would hang out on the ground and wouldn't run away until the dog got super close. Sometimes they would run right in front of us. My dog is now obsessed with looking up into the trees to see if there are squirrels up there.
lol! these are all funny to read. my furbabies hate fireworks!!! they run and hide. they also hate thunderstorms. but they lovvvveeeeeeee cuddling in bed. sitting pretty, laying on their backs under covers like little humans... chasing fireflies, swimming in the lake and digging in the sand. i just love them to pieces!
My dog HATES thunder. She starts shaking and crying. She really hates to be left alone and having to go outside in to morning to use the potty when the grass is all wet with dew.
My brother's lab puppy was afraid of my 1-year-old nephew the first few times she met him. She kept backing away, whimpering, tail between her legs. All the kid was doing was looking at her! Haha.
MY rescue... oh boy, this could get long :-)
Mine hates and is afraid of the vacuum. I named the vacuum 'booboo'. Before I take it out, I'll tell him 'Sandy, BOOBOO is coming. Run, Sandy! Run!!!!' He'll run into our room and hides under the bed *lol*
When I had a dog, she hated car horns and that noise the tv makes when there is an announcement to follows. I miss my dogs.
Basil hates when we touch his front paws or his nose. He isn't scared of thunder or fireworks, but he gets mad at them. Like, when they start, he runs to the door and barks his ass off at them.
He gets scared by anything that flaps or blows in the wind. If we're walking him on a windy day and a plastic bag blows by in the wind, he is terrified. One time we walked by a motorcycle that was parked on the sidewalk that had a cover on it and the cover flapped in the wind. Again: terrified.
Other than that, he's pretty fearless. He's got no fear of people, giant dogs, cars, trucks, etc.
my pup (also a rescue) hates:
- being left alone
- vacuum
- rain (having to go out in it, or even when he can hear it)
- PDA (FI gives me a hug and a kiss every day when he gets home from work and stew goes nuts barking at us)
- really random and unpredictable things such as: raspberries (the sound, not the fruit), wii sports (will jump on you and bark if you try to play with him the room), pilates (again, will jump on me and bark if i do it with him in the room), loud noises (bands, fireworks, batting cages, etc etc etc). Basically hates any loud noise or movement that he doesn't understand.
Also, when I first got him he didn't like other dogs because he had been "beat up" by a "bully dog" in the home he was taken from apparently, but we remedied that issue within the first year
Note: to anyone reading this who doesn't have a rescue dog don't be turned off by the quirks!! for the most part they're just hilarious and not annoying, and especially if you get younger dogs you're much less likely to get one with more serious issues. mine was 3 when i adopted him so he already had some baggage (totally worth it though!)
My puggle HATES the rain! she will not go outside if its raining!
Wrigley and Zoe HATE baths! They stand there frozen while you bathe them! They also hate the neighbor dogs...they yap too much!
Toby hates:
The car. Our community mailbox is down the road, so I have to take the keys to get there, and he will NOT go outside with me if I pick them up.
Trash bags. He hates the rustling noise.
Our neighbors Maltese.
The word "Bath" but once he's in there, he's just fine.
Our little Derby hates puddles, rain, the lake...pretty much everything involving water unless she is drinking it! :)
She doesn't like the vacuum, but the hair dryer doesn't bother her...what a weirdo ;)
The black lab that lives in our neighborhood & his/her mom. Again - strange!
Our older mix hates FLYS, hates them with a crazy passion.
Our puppy hates peeing in the wet grass, loud engine sounds, and coming inside when she still wants to play.

I just tried the dvd for the first time? He freaked the hell out!! I think he thought I was hurt or something? Jumping jacks, fake jump rope, lunches, butt kicks... freaked the hell out and tried to jump on me/nip at me. Then as soon as I'd get on the floor for abs he'd lick me all over and try to nudge/roll into me. i wish i hate THAT on dvd hahaha.
Toro hates any "doodle" that comes to the dogpark- Pocono hates the garden hose-
Our rescue is terrified of our bedroom for some reason (probably because that's where her crate is). She always whimpers when she walks past it, and when we're in there folding laundry or something, we'll call her in, and she'll walk toward it, walk away, walk toward it, walk away, and finally whimper and walk away.
It's sad, but also kind of funny :)
And she doesn't even react to the vacuum, which is so weird because every day I've ever had HATED the vacuum. She just sat there and stared at it while I used it.

My Dachshund hates plastic bags blowing in the wind (yes!) and people wearing hats or masks. 
Our dog only has two major dislikes: motorcycles (dirt bikes are ok but not road bikes like Harleys) and guns. Oh, and always barks at UPS/FedEx trucks but that's not surprising.
This dog loves 99.9% of everyone he meets but one day he got out as our neighbor was driving by on his bike. Bones chased after him and even nipped him on the leg (didn't really break the skin at least). The guy got to his house, turned off the bike and Bones completely stopped. Wasn't agitated, nothing. After that we had a friend try and get him agitated with his dirt bike and he didn't even look at it. I don't know what it is but I wonder if there's not some vibration/frequency that we can't hear.
As for the guns, he hasn't had many shot around him (mostly just a little 22 that's quieter than a balloon popping) but as soon as they come out his head drops and he goes and lays down in another room. Not a fan.
@Corgi Hilarious! Do you think he just doesn't like Jillian Michaels, perhaps? LOL
Our family Cocker Spaniel, Chris, hates:
Rain, rain and more rain! Hates to go outside in the rain.
Sometimes he freaks out over decorative flags blowing in the wind...they scare him.
Oh, and once he barked at the full moon a few years back.
And the big Newfie in the neighborhood. He doesn't like him (the Newfie is a sweetie) but he loves other big dogs. Wierd!
Edit: I just remembered he hates hot air balloons!!! When he sees one he barks and barks!

My dog as of today is afraid of bullfrogs. We live by a lake and there were two, one on each side of the lake and they were croaking to each other and Frankie my puppy looked to each direction where the sounds were coming from then flipped out. Started running in every direction and whining. I had to pick him up and carry him a half a block away before he calmed down. Weird.
He also hates the dog downstairs who barks at him as soon as he walks out the door. He will run inside because he's so afraid of him even when he has to go potty like whoa.
I just remembered one more :) ! Latte hates laundry baskets lol. If one of her toys falls in a laundry basket, she barks at the basket and whimpers at it
Cullen hates when Ranger pulls him around the house by the tail, and he hates when we mess with his paws!
Ranger hates the vacuum, loud noises, people he doesn't know, and golf carts. For a giant dog, he is veeeery skittish!
