I totally understand!  Can you stash healthy snacks in your desk?  Dried fruit, nuts, crackers?  I am lucky that I have a fridge near me where I keep fruit cups and yogurt, too.  I know if I don’t have those things on hand and I’m hungry at work, it’s down to the vending machine I go!

don’t worry too much about the slip up! I have been dieting and steadily losing for almost 6 months now. If I want an ‘unhealthy’ treat I really think about it, wait a few hours, and if I still want it, I’ll have it! A little treat once a week or so won’t derail all your progress 🙂

Don’t beat yourself up over one slip up.

Just tell yourself that you’ll be good for the rest of the day and try to stay on track.

I’m not trying to lose a lot of weight – but I am trying to lose 5-10 pounds before the wedding and yes, it’s easy to grab a bag of chips or a soda, especially when it gets crazy at work, or during the 3pm slump.

One thing I found that really helps is to plan ahead. I bought healthy snacks for my snack drawer at work, and some bottled waters and those low calorie flavor packets, if you like those. Got rid of the unhealthy snacks from my drawer (yes, I’m a piglet and have a whole large drawer in my office dedicated to snacks! LOL) I make sure I have peanut butter in my drawer, and some crackers, raw almonds, trail mix and some chocolate fiber bars (maybe not totally healthy and low fat, but they are high in fiber and satisfy a chocolate craving with many less calories than a snickers). I also keep various fruits at my desk, and if I don’t eat it at work during the week and it’s getting real ripe, I just take it home and have it for dessert.

If you have a fridge at work, there are tons you can bring. Hard boiled eggs, hummus and prechopped veggies, fruit salad, veggies and laughing cow cheese, yogurt, yogurt smoothies, etc.

Oh, and I agree with others not to beat yourself up over one “bad” day – it’s being on track overall that makes more difference!!

Oh my God, I know!  Friday at work was a potluck and today was a baby shower and both days I left feeling stuffed and cursing myself!

The best laid plans…
