Long story short: My FI’s job out of the entire wedding planning is to decide on the cake. Figure out what style he wants, colors, shape, etc. So, while we were at our Cake Ladys house, figuring out what he wanted, she looks and me and in a rude tone asks, “If he’s taking care of the cake, what are YOU doing? Whats YOUR job for the wedding?” I have a feeling that I looked a bit like a dog who didn’t understand what you just said, or that velociraptor from Jurassic Park. You know, the tilt of the head while just staring? I stammered something about DIYing a lot and how we’ll be making the bouquets, etc. Later on, thinking back, it just got me more and more riled. I think the actual phrase is, “What the actual f*** do you THINK I’m doing, b****?” and that just keeps circulating in my head. I mean seriously.
She is now our ex-Cake Lady.
I really needed a vent, and the more I linger on it, the more pissed I get. SO. I want to hear yours to get me to stop beating this dead horse!

Wow, that is pretty darn rude. If you were the one making all the cake decisions, I wonder if she would have asked your Fiance what he was helping out with or if she would have just ignored it since the groom isn’t “expected” to help.
We’re still keeping things pretty tightly under wraps right now so I haven’t yet received a whole lot of questions about whose doing what, though we’re pretty much putting in equal amounts of work so I’m not sure if that’d be an issue. The only things people thus far have asked about are the basics like what are our colors/theme/month we’re shooting for. Crossing my fingers it doesn’t get much worse than that!

I was at a doctors appointment, and the nurse goes “I love your ring?? When are you getting married?” I told her the date and she says “Nice! Will this be your first marriage??”

I kept having people ask “so. when are you going to have babies.”
my thought was… one thing at a time, okay?

Oh, yes, ex cake lady for sure!
I work at a school and got married over the summer. Last spring another teacher asked me if I was coming back to work in the fall. Ummm, it’s 2014 not 1914. The weird thing is she has grown children and worked while they were growing up so I’m not sure why she even considered that I would suddenly stop working as soon as I got married!
