The Aquarium there is pretty neat. Cant remember how much tickets are. There are so many restaurants... I cant even remember the names. There was 1 seafood place on the water that was great and a brewery that had great beer. Those cabins are so amazing! Does yours have a hot tub/ jacuzzi? Hopefully you'll get snow and have a winter wonderland to gaze at while you're enjoying wine and the hot water :)
I live two hours away so we are considered frequent fliers there. The Aquarium is a must see. Its Ripley's so its fantastic with tons of glass and you can get close and personal with the fish. I would recommend parking there in the lot and when you're done inside, walk up and down the main street. There are a ton of places to shop depending on your taste and there is a great little candy store just across the street from the aquarium. The hard rock cafe is a great place to eat too. Good luck and have fun!
Everytime I go to Gatlinburg, I have to do the Dixie Stampede. It's expensive, but so worth it!
I also suggest just walking downtown gatlinburg, it will be worth it :)
So are the pancakes and the fudge!
Edit: The Dixie Stampede is actually in Pigeon Forge but they are really close to each other-about 20 min depending on traffic and you do need a reservation.
LOL and I just realized that this was from three weeks ago so you've already gone. I hope you had an amazing time!
I haven't been there in years but I do remember that the hiking there is wonderful. The Smokey Mountain National Park is nearby with gorgeous trails and waterfalls.
There are also LOTS of great outlet malls for shopping in Sevierville, quite close to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, if that's your thing.
OO just realized this is an old thread too... oops :) Hope you had fun and that this helps future travelers to the area.
I'm not a huge fan of gatlinburg, but living only a couple hours away we frequent the area. My favorite thing in the world to do is go hiking!!!!! I don't do the downtown area...but there is a great Tanger Outlet close to Pigeon Forge. That's where you'll find me most of the time ;)

Hey Ladies!
My husband and I are going up to Gatlinburg TN this weekend for our 1 year anniversary! We booked a cute little cabin in the woods and ideally we would just stay there all weekend and not leave haha ;) but since we are going somewhere new i think we need to get out and about for a minute and see the area - any suggestions on things to do? or somwhere good to eat to celebrate our anniversary?
Thanks!!
