It depends on what you’re doing.  Definitely swimsuits for hanging out by the pool.  If you’re planning on going to bars/clubs, definitely bring dresses, because you have to be dressed up to get in.

When I go on vacation anywhere warm, I pretty much only bring dresses and swimsuits.  Easy to pack and you can wear dresses everywhere.

(1) very comfortable shoes – although since it will be SO hot in july, you’ll probably cab to places that aren’t right next to one another

(1a) bandaids in case your shoes weren’t as comfy as you thought:)

(2) multiple bathing suits

(3) a lot of cash – the ATMs have even higher fees than normal ones, so it pays to take out extra and just deposit it if there is any left/you have winnings:)

(4) maybe a light cardigan or cute blazer?  when we play poker for hours on end, it can get pretty cold in the casinos

(5) i second the idea about the dresses… i exclusively wore dresses when we went in the summer because it is SO hot.  casual ones during the day and pretty much as sexy as you are comfortable going at night!

(6) this may sound silly, but i also bring my eye cover (for sleeping) because generally i found myself sleeping during the daytime hours and gambling til 4am, but as a previous poster noted, this depends on what you plan to do while you are there!

COMFY SHOES!  Even my runners ended up killing my feet and it felt like my foot was getting crushed in.  I ended up buying these “memory foam” like Nike flip flops down there and they were life savers.

Comfortable shoes!!  You can’t take your shoes off at any of the clubs, so make sure you bring shoes that you can dance the night away in!

One thing I didn’t see mentioned was chapstick.  The heat will dry your lips out.  Although always remember, anything like that that you forget, you can always buy at the Walgreens on the strip.  Also, we walked the whole strip from Mandalay Bay to Stratosphere and after that my feet were killing me in flip flops last August.

Luckily our wedding is in October, so we will be going to Vegas then.  Does anyone know if Mandalay Bay’s wave pool is still open then?
