So my MIL was in town this past weekend and I got to hear about some funny stories from our wedding weekend that had never made their way back to us until now (7.5 months later).

So I learned that during the rehearsal, one of our ring bearers wanted to know why he couldn't ride into the ceremony on his bike (apparently this idea just popped into his head during the rehearsal).  One of our groomsman thought it was hysterical and seriously considered getting all the GM to pitch in and go to Target and buy him a Big Wheels and just show up at the church with it the next day.

In the end, no Big Wheels was bought and our adorable ring bearer walked down the aisle.  My mom would have probably killed the GM had they actually brought a Big Wheel to the church (she's uber traditional) but it would have been so cute if he had entered the reception on it!

Anyone else hear entertaining stories from your wedding months after the fact?

Big Wheels!  Now that would have been funny in theory!

I heard stories almost immediately - but they weren't of the happy funny nature.  The only good one I've gotten is the friend who was my DOC is now going to my hairdresser (who did all my girls wedding hair) and apparently, she had some really sweet things to say about the experience and my attitude as a bride.  That was sweet to hear secondhand.

Yes! We just heard a story about a month ago about my SILs boyfriend - apparently he tried to steal 2 bottles of liquor once the wedding ended (it was open bar) and he got caught! They were going to make him pay $200 if he didnt give it back! We had already left our reception by that point and for some reason never heard about it until much later!

DH's ex got hammered and threw up in the taxi on the way back to the hotel with her husband. Ooooh my.

Our wedding almost didn't happen, LOL! That's sort of a big one. Our biggest vendor (tent, china, tables, chairs, everything) totally dropped the ball and just didn't send any of the right pieces or parts for our tent, so DH and the GM ended up setting it up themselves Saturday around lunch time when it was supposed to be set up 24 hours before that by the rental company. We're currently in the midst of a lawsuit with them. Fun stuff. Obviously no one told me about that until after the fact!!

@bakerella... your note reminds me of an event this summer that I watched...  In the words of that famous golden girl Sofia...

PICTURE IT...  A Saturday afternoon on a busy beach in Delaware.  Families and College kids are packed onto a narrow strip of beach enjoying the sun and having fun on the beach...  definitely informal and not anything fancy in view...  A rental company comes onto the beach somewhere around noonish to set up a wedding arch and mark out an aisle...  which is in the midst of random beach towels and umbrellas and not anything like what you imagine when you picture a beautiful beach wedding.  We start guessing that maybe there will be a wedding tonight on the beach and go ask the people setting up when the wedding is... and are shocked to hear that it's at 12:30 in the midst of the chaos of the day...  Everyone in our area is intrigued by this set up and the strange nature of the event... The lifeguards even get involved with this because events like this are not to be scheduled at this hour of the day in the summer...  The Arch is clearly not going to be appropriate for the lifeguards to be able to watch out for swimmers safety, and it's quite clear that it is not a situation that the wedding has rented the beach for the day...  Twelve thirty comes and goes and no one arrives for the event...  Around one, a woman frantically arrives and the rental group rushes to pull everything down because they set up everything at the wrong beach!    My family's guess is that the wedding was to be on the bay at a little private beach about two blocks away!  Bad rental company!

Well, our photographer (awesome guy!!!) told us that he accidently set down the camera bag with memory cards in the outdoor garden we took pictures at after the wedding. It was just his wife, him, and us.  They didn't get the memory cards back until a week after the wedding and had posted posters about a reward and everything.   I guess if the cards hadn't been found by January 1 (2 weeks after the wedding) they would have contacted us about them paying to restage the whole wedding.  Mind you it was small and relatively affordable, but oh my gosh! He told us a few months after the wedding and we were able to laugh about it, but it would have been nuts!  It turns out a security guard had seen us taking our pics (we were totally trespassing!) and had found the memory cards right after we left.  He got the reward and we got beautiful wedding pics.

Almost a year after the wedding, we were at a family function for DH's side of the family where I found out they all thought I was plastered at the wedding. Um, I had 2 glasses of champagne and thats it. I was feeling fine. I asked his cousin why she thought that and her response still cracks me up - "because you were so happy and outgoing". (Side note- I can be shy at times. But I've been silly in front of his family before so I don't know what the deal was) Of course I was! I just married the man of my dreams!

One of the groomsmen threw up three times in the car on the way home. We found out when we got back from the honeymoon and everyone made fun of him for being so drunk.

Fast forward a month or so, and the same exact thing happens at another wedding. And then, the same thing happened at a July 4th function with his family. It turns out he's severely allergic to some chemical that's in sparklers, so he got sick during both wedding send-offs and the 4th of July. Totally wasn't the alcohol after all!

@bakerella: My sister-kid from my sorority got sick in someone's car on the way back to the hotel.  I learned about that one immeadiately though as people were on their way out to clean up the car as DH and I arrived at the hotel.  Oops!

@bluebonnet: At least it wasn't due to alcohol!  He was probably starting to look like he couldn't control himself at all.

@maisymay: OMG - I bet you're so glad they didn't tell you about that until they had the pictures safely back!  I'd have been freaking out if I knew that.  Glad you can laugh about it now though!

Anyone else hear of any interesting stories or happenings after your wedding?

Oh one thing that is funny is I got pulled over on the way to my wedding LOL I was driven by my dads friends who are in a car club so we had lowriders taking us.. well the guy i was riding with thought it would be cute to hit his old school firetruck siren... well i guess the cop didn't think it was so cute because it is illegal. He did let us go but i was already late to the wedding.. Poor DH.. he was asking his mom if i got cold feet.. LOL that was funny! but i was kind mad at the time because i was so late i wanted to get "first look pics"

Well, I didn't hear about it until about 3 months later, but my sister in law was totally throwing up in the parking lot of the really nice restaurant we had our After Wedding Brunch at.... Lol. And it was right before she came in. She looked totally fine to me!

@jaylovessteez: My flower girl totally broke down and cried too! But we had a feeling it was coming since she was really hesitant at the rehearsal. I didn't see it happen, but I'm glad my FIL got it on video! It was actually really cute. Everyone in the chapel went "awwww...!" and laughed. My ring bearer rocked though! He totally left my flower girl in the dust and strutted down the aisle. He was so proud of himself, haha. Poor FG.

@AbbyDabbyDoodleBug: she usually does pretty good... she loves to be the center of attention but i guess they photog sat her and the ring bearer down on a bench and she smashed her finger so she was so upset. & devistated.. My ring bearer was the best too he is such a little ham.. when we went into the reception we all came in dancing he was right in front of us.. he looked so cute he was breaking it down LOL
