I get it, overall I preferred the old WB. Some things will get better once changes are made (I hope!) and I’m just used to the change, and there will probably be a few things I will always miss about the old layout. There are some good things I’ve seen though:
- Text is easier to read for me. On the old site, if the room was dark it got difficult to read.
- The way we can sort things on people’s profiles ie. under boards, threads I follow, threads I started, etc.
- The ability to see blog posts under someone’s profile, I think that’s new?
- I’m curious to see the follow me feature.
- I like the idea of the helpful button, hopefully it will work better than what it has for me soon!

Ahah I actually really hate how giant the new font/text is!
But there are a few things I like (: I think it’s cool that WB won’t let us double post anymore and I actually really like the changes to the gallery and DIY sections. It aways felt like they were kind of the forgotten parts of the site and now they’re more integrated and sleek. They actually remind me a bit of WeddingGawker which I really love.
I really love the look of the new header with the main links and the new logo. That looks really pretty and professional. I also like the profile sorting, it’s a great new feature. And I like that I can put more information about me, my FI, and my wedding on my profile (: I think it’s nice that I can find out more about someone’s wedding from reading their profile.
Oh and I like the ‘helpful’ feature, even if it’s not working properly yet. It’s a good idea.

I just want to say that I do see where people are wanting the old WB back … BUT, for me, I am so grateful that a place like this exists. It is free, FULL of information and has been a God send. Therefore, I really dont feel right complaining because the worst idea to me is it being shut down.
Not sure why some people are so upset with all the changes. I mean really, it isnt going to ruin your life or your wedding so why be so quick to be upset.
I would like to commend all the staff, mods, etc. at Wedding Bee who have worked to make their product better. Keep it up and THANK YOU for making this a great place to talk about weddings.

The message feature showing ongoing messages.
Seems like the DIY [and maybe gallery, haven’t looked yet] are showing more pictures, that’s nice.
The helpful thing is a nice touch.
Also, I do like the new header as pp mentioned.

sugarpea: I feel the same way about the size of things too. It’s some of the colours though. On the old board I didn’t like the text colour on the background colour. For posters with a high post count it was good.

I really like the new drop down navigation menus- it really cleans up the top of the page.
Also, the mobile site is so much easier to read and navigate! It looks really good on a phone.
Uploading a picture is now a lot easier too, I just hope that we’ll be able to save our uploaded pictures like before (and delete them if we want too).

I work in software and have been through multiple website launches, so I know full well what the admins are going through right now. I actually avoided the boards yesterday not because of the changes, but because the commentary was sooooo similar to what I deal with at work and I come here to escape that. Yeah, it’s not perfect, but these things rarely are. It seems like the admins are making a genuine effort to listen and fix things, and for that reason I’m willing to ride out the storm.
Anyway, I really dig the post/comment sorting features in the profiles. The helpful button I could see being really useful too. If I see a lot of +1 comments on a thread, I’d go back and dig to try and find the comment being mentioned…usually unsuccessfully. If it’s easy to identify or sort by the “most helpful” comments, I’d be all on board with that.

I also like the profiles! Needs a pinch of tweaking, but overall those changes are nice. The “Helpful” button is cool too (once it works).

I like the white background- the old one reminded me of 1975 because of the color scheme.

AB Bride: I like the mobile version, i work alot so i use my mobile on my breaks and i can now post pics and stuff from my mobile which is great.

Thank you AB Bride: for starting a postive thread 🙂
I like most of the changes and I’ve noticed that the tech team has already taken a lot of the comments to heart and made a ton of changes since yesterday morning.
It will get better and I think it will ultimately be better than the old bee.

sugarpea: I think the helpful feature will also be awesome – might cut down on the number of “+1” posts we see (which always annoyed me)

Overall I’m not a fan, but I don’t miss the snot green backgrounds (especially under heavy posters’ posts, ahem). I find black on white font is just fine to read. I don’t care too much about font zoom level b/c I mostly browse the bee on my Surface so I just take it to the size I like (new WB or old WB).
While I also don’t like the new main boards page layout (harder to browse), I do like the bit of thread previews. Some bees suggested the previews should be hover-over and the main page more like it was before, I agree that would be much better. Right now I find the new site offputting, but I’m not horrified by the change or anything. It still seems to get the main job of being a useable wedding forum done. I just notice I feel bored much faster and go do something productive instead more often since the change. I don’t know if that’s just a “getting used to it” thing, but even if not, I kind of feel like that’s a good thing for me anyway, lol!

CallMeMrsG: +1 Bravo!
I personally like the new layout even though (like with all things) there is a learning curve to get familiar with it. The two cons I mentioned yesterday got fixed as they were glitches so they are no longer cons.
