SO I have been looking for unique guest book ideas that can be hung in FI and I’s place after the wedding because I know that any traditional style guest book will just end up collecting dust somewhere never to be seen.
After lots of searching and many times thinking I finally found something I really liked, I think I have FINALLY found the one!
As a side note, my fiancé and I are long distance, we have been since day 1. So when I saw the below guest book idea, I thought this is so us and would be so personal and perfect for our love story. I feel like it would look awesome hung on our wall, reminding us years from now how we started. What do you bees think? Do you like this?
Signatures and well wishes would go around the map, of course.
My fiancé has since moved to a different state from the one he was in when we first met, so we’ll actually have three states highlighted, rather than two.
I can also customize the colors of the map and background to whatever colors I want.

I like it, but I wouldn’t add a third state as I think it would be confusing. Which state does he most fondly remember as his own? That’s the one I would include.

that’s adorable! i think it’s perfect since you’ve had a long distance relationship!

@Diamond84: I love it! I do agree about not doing 3 states though. I think it would make it look like there are 3 people.

I love it! But yeah, the two states are key, otherwise it it’ll look like a threesome 😉

Contrary to popular opinion, I think you can do all three states. Just superimpose the heart over the state where you will be married/live.

Thanks ladies. So the three states would be the one I live in now, the one he used to live in when we met/fell in love, and the one he recently moved to which is the state I will be moving to once we get married.
Just to get a visual, this is what three states would look like.
It’s hard to pick which two to use if I didn’t want to put three. Obviously, we’re I’m at would be one, but then I can’t pick between the other two because the first place he lived holds a special place in my heart because we fell in love in that city and most of our relationship he was living there, but then the third state that he moved to recently is where we will finally be living in TOGETHER after we get married. It’s so difficult for me to choose because all three hold such special importance… :/
ETA: Neither of the two states that fiance has lived in while we’ve been together is his “home” state that he grew up in.

@julies1949: Thanks! I really think this is the one. Can’t picture a better guest book for us.

OK now that I see it, I think 3 would be ok. Especially since you’re essentially both moving to the 3rd state to be together (even though he’s already there).

@sarahmichelle: Thanks, that’s the way I see it. Even though he’s only been in that third state for 5 months now, that third state will be “home” and where we finally close our long distance gap. I feel that taking it out would be like leaving the last piece of a puzzle undone.
