So I’ve been agonising over dresses for a while now, because so many of them seem to be the same strapless, form-fitting gown and I just wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing anything like that.
However, I went dress shopping with MOB today and I think I may have found the dress. It has actual sleeves, a floaty skirt and room to breathe. Looking for opinions from other bees though because my choice is kinda unusual and I’ve read so many stories of dress regret on here lol.
So what do you guys think?

I love it! it’s beautiful, but it does look a bit costumey… reminds me of maid marian.
I think you should wear the dress you love, regardless of fashion or body type.

If you love it, that’s what matters most!
What is the rest of your wedding like – venue, what are the guys wearing, what kind of dresses for your Bridesmaids, etc? I think that dress could be lovely at a wedding where it matches the “feel,” but I will say I think it could look really out of place if everything else is very modern/”normal.”

@Kurzweil: Fiance will be wearing a kilt (but think old-style highland dress, not modern kilt with dinner jacket). In fact, almost all the men will be in kilts, including guests. It’s just the norm here.
The venue is a small Scottish castle and we’re planning to have the ceremony lit entirely by candlelight (if we can square it with the venue). The ceremony room itself has dark wood panelling with ornate ceilings, which looks quite medieval. The reception will also be held in the castle.
My jewellery is also Celtic in style (including my e ring) and, as we are both Scottish, we will be keeping a lot of the usual Scottish traditions. So hopefully it should fit with the style of the wedding overall?

Ok well if you are going scottish/celtic all around then this dress is perfect for your theme!

The dress reminds me of Game of Thrones. The fashion of King’s Landing.
I think you should wear what you want. I think it’d go very nice with your venue!

After hearing about your venue, I think it sounds like a good fit! I agree it looks a bit like a costume from a renaissance fair, but it is beautiful.
