- Wedding: December 1969
Ok bees, I feel like I’ve been going back and forth on this dress question for months now. I still am not 100% happy with my wedding dress (I made a post about it a while back). So here’s a little visual background on the situation.
Here’s the dress I initially LOVED:
Light and airy, all over lace, I love it! But it didn’t fit me right at all. It has a low back and I’m too busty for any backless solutions. Bra cups, those stick on things, low back long line bras- none of it worked. So alas, I had to give up on this dress.
I kept looking, and had such trouble finding any dress that worked on my figure. Eventually I found this dress:
Which I liked well enough and bought. But yeah, it’s totally different. I don’t think it fits in very well with my wedding, but it is what it is and I’m trying to learn to love it. I can’t wear my pearls with it 🙁 I don’t have the money for a second dress nor do I have the time to do anything about it. So I’m just going with this one.
However, today while looking for rehearsal dresses, I came across this one from Nordstrom: (I think some other bees have posted it before…)
If it’s not showing up well, that’s all over lace. It is so similar to what I initially wanted, when I saw it I was thrilled! I thought, even if I couldn’t get what I wanted in a wedding dress, I could have elements of it in this dress. So now I’m thinking about wearing this dress to BOTH the rehearsal, and changing into it about 2/3 of the way through the reception.
Is it weird to wear the dress twice like that? Our rehearsal will only be immediate family and wedding party (one person on each side). Am I being ungrateful to my mother, who paid for the wedding dress, by changing out of it before the end of the reception? Our rehearsal is supposed to be “sundress casual” (a term coined by my MOH)- is this dress too much?
ugh, I just want the dress drama to end! Help me bees!
