Ok, so it is a major longshot….I am on bcp. But I haven’t had a period for a while (I usually get one eventually) and we did have sex a couple of times when I wasn’t covered by the pill (forgot to take in time frame so have to be safe for 7 days) but he never ejaculated into me, but did enter me without condom on and you do hear stories of there being sperm before ejactulation.
anyway my thinking is – start of last period was 42 days ago and I keep having constant nosebleeds, which I have read is a sign.
Did anyone else have this?

I’d test. No matter what anyone says, you will not know until you test.

@FromA2B2013: Agreed with pp- test! Chances are slim, but you never know.

yes, I think you’re right. Will have to wait until tomorrow now as shops are shut. Wish I could know now, one way or the other.
Things is, I have had no “common” symptoms but then again, not everyone does do they.

@FromA2B2013: If you had unprotected sex, there’s always a chance of becoming pregnant. Definitely buy a test (or a couple, to keep on hand in case this happens again). Let us know how things turn out!

I only missed one day during a month about a year ago and ended up pregnant. It was a blighted ovum in the end (resulted in mc), but it can happen! Buy the test 🙂

Hmm unlikely but like PPs have said there is always a chance and you’ll never know until you test! I get constant nose bleeds from the dry winter air so I’m not a very good gauge there, hehe!

I’d test for sure. And either way I would talk to your doctor about your cycle. The BCP should be giving you a regular cycle. If it is not, you may need to try a different pill.

I’d test sooner rather than later so you can sort this out and stop taking the pill if you ARE pregnant. I agree that it seems a little unlikely but is always possible of course. Keep us updated and good luck 🙂

@missrain: I just started taking a new pill a month ago because the previous one was giving me irregular periods – as in one time I go 35 days from start of period to start of period and the next time it shall be 11 days. So that could be a reason for the lack of period. I think I will do a test tomorrow and find out once and for all (hopefully!)

@FromA2B2013: If you just started a new pill, that could also give you a slightly higher chance. I know when I changed pills, my doctor always warned me to be careful the first month or two.

@FromA2B2013: I’d say your chances are small with the activity you describe, but why speculate? Pee on a stick. =) It could be that your period will come with your next round of sugar pills.

@Peffy: according to the mahussive set of instructions that come with it, I should have been protected from the start of taking them. However, it was just before I started on them that we were having to be cautious because of me forgetting to take one pill from the previous set. That was a 7 day “play it safe” session, which we did…but maybe the new pill needed longer than that.
@fresitachulita: I am on the POP pill, which means no sugar pills…they are all the same every day. That’s why it is so frustrating, you never know when your period should be coming!

Took a test this morning and it was negative, which is good news I think. There were two tests in the box so I have kept the other one. If I don’t get a period soon, I will retest. I am seeing the doctor in a few weeks so if my period hasn’t come by then, and the tests are still negative I shall bring it up.
Thanks to everyone for all your advice and support.
