I broke my foot at the bachelorette party and now next weekend is the wedding! I have to wear a "boot" now for 6 weeks - needless to say it doesn't "go" with the pink tealength dress. I could probably take it off for pictures but it would probably be risky to walk on it for the ceremony as well as I would look like Peter Lorre if I tried walking without the boot anyway. What should I do? People in the wedding party think I'll probably be okay for the ceremony since its not that long.
Must have been one hell of a bachelorette party!! I definitely wouldn't take it off for the ceremony and risk hurting yourself even more. I'm sure people will understand and they would appreciate you preventing further damage. As for pictures, definitely stay within your means and don't try to overdo it. Too bad the dresses aren't full length!
*Disclaimer: I am no doctor, you might want to talk to yours and see what he/she recommends, and if the doc says don't you dare take the boot off at all, then don't!!
I would seriously talk to your doctor. Taking off the boot, especially to stand in a pair of heels (let alone walking) could set back your recovery by additional weeks - is it really worth that, just for a few pictures? Worst case, you can do damage that means the break will never heal cleanly, and have trouble with that foot for the rest of your life. I know it's disappointing, but your photographer should be able to work around the boot in how he/she positions people for photos, how the photos are framed and cropped, etc. Don't let your friends try to talk you into anything that would cause you pain or injury.
This happened to my friend when she was a bridesmaid! She rush ordered a new dress in the same color and style, only long. It hid her cast for the photos. And don't be ashamed to walk funny or sit down - everyone at my friend's wedding thought the bridesmaid was an absolute hero for getting up there at all!
for pictures why not stand behind another bridesmaid.
maybe it can be photoshopped
or who cares. it will be an interesting story for the new couple and you! "the bachelorette party was so wild i broke my foot! look at these funny pictures"
I definitely wouldn't take it off. My sister broke a small bone in her foot- didn't follow the doctor's orders and now has chronic pain. Your friends perfect pictures aren't worth that!
If it's really that big a deal, I'm sure your friend could pick out her favorite group protrait and have the photog photoshop your cast away (if you can't stand behind someone as suggested).
It's a medical situation, everyone will (or at least should) understand.
