Congrats!! Just to reassure you, my mom had extremely low thyroid during 4 pregnancies before they eventually discovered about her thyroid, and all 4 of us were born extremely healthy 🙂 I also have low thyroid and am currently pregnant with my second, and in both cases they upped my dose in early pregnancy and it took about a month for my levels to balance. My son is totally healthy and this little one seems ok so far (am currently 18 weeks along).
Your post gave me chills. So exciting!! Congratulations! 🙂
Would love some updates on your fiances reaction!
Thank you for all the lovely comments, we have both been taking pre pregnancy vitamins for at least 6 months now. Can I continue to take the current ones or should I switch to ‘pregnancy’? This just does not feel real!
FI has literally spent the last hour in tears, he is so happy and shocked he doesn’t know what to do with himself! Hw keeps hugging me and then walking around, asking what he can do. It has melted my heart!
amanda3334455 : that is so reassuring to hear, I am so happy to hear both your mum and you have/are having healthy pregnancies. Did you have any affects from the medication? I will start taking them tomorrow as it says best before a meal, before breakfast I think.
have had a look online (I know I shouldn’t) of the possible risks etc but it does seem like if is manageable and many have a healthy pregnancy and baby when on the right medication. I think because it wasn’t long ago they mentioned low thyroid, I didn’t know enough about it, and then to have it confirmed today.. the day we find out I’m pregnant! It’s all a blur!
Congratulations! Lots of baby dust and FX for a happy, healthy 9 months!
rainbowstars : omg this is the best post, loved reading it. Congrats x10000000!
I read a lot of kinda sad and discouraging posts on this board about issues with FI/DH (naturally, ppl want feedback) but it’s so refreshing to read something your post. How cute that he keeps pacing around doting on you, so awesome for you guys! Gives me a lot of hope about men, marriage & fertility. 🙂
bluegreyeyes : I came upstairs last night and he was sat in our spare room (which will be the babies nursery)
We are taking it day by day, especially until we see the midwife and get more information on the thyroid implications, It could be a bumpy road, But I am keeping positive with a great cardiologist who has said previously he sees no reasons why carrying a baby should be a problem.
Wishing you all happiness and health and that all your dreams come true 🙂
