I say do it! Think of the pictures!!

We’re thinking of a sunset cruise during our wedding week but how awesome DURING the reception!

Do it!  This sounds amazing.

I would give everyone a heads-up about the water, though.  Post something about it on your website, spread it through word of mouth, etc.  They can roll up their pants for an awesome experience!

Awesome idea, I spent a year in Oz and my liver still hasn’t recovered lol. I think the only big con I see is people getting wet. Talk to the boat and set a time so people get on at the right tide, also ask them what other options or ideas they have.

This sounds amazing and if executed correctly will be one of those things that make your guest remember you wedding. Maybe after talking to them the boat owners might have options and know the best way to make this happen logistical, as I assume they worked in simular circumstances before.

Also, check the dress code with the hotel– they may be able to get away with a little more casual.  I know Fiance would probably want to wear linen pants to a beach destination wedding, which would be easy to roll up and would dry quickly if they did get wet?

What’s the dress code for the wedding? If it’s casual and everyone’s in shorts/short dresses, I think it’s a great idea. If it’s formal, it’s probably not…

sounds good except for the knee deep water.  This would need to be solved there has to be something that can be done a ramp or somehting.  I could see people not getting on the boat becasue of it.

I think with young people, “beach fancy” (giving examples like khakis, linen pants, sundresses) would work perfectly.  Just be sure that everyone knows the dress code– and tell them about the boat so they know the reason!  (Wouldn’t want someone disregarding it and then ending up with a wet, expensive suit.) I know Fiance and I would love to go to a wedding like this.

@Future Mrs Armby:   I’d hate to see guys in their nice suits dodging waves! lol

They can roll up their pant legs! That’ll make a great picture of all the guys with the pant leg rolled up to the knees and lapping the water!

As long as you plan ahead to minimize those kinds of issues I can’t imagine it being too hard. It sounds AMAZING!
