I also got depressed when I went off. I posted about it and all of the lovely ladies told me all of these things would stop. They did after about 3 months or so. Except for the eating donuts part 🙂

@MandaMack:YES. Totally normal, at least for me. The whole reason I went on BC in the first place was to regulate my monstrous periods and cramps. I’m back on BC now, and things seem to have calmed, but I still want to eat everything within a five mile radius.

@MandaMack: Really? I didn’t know you had to go through a heavy one when you stop having BC. Hope it gets better, put your feet up on the sofa and watch a film – while eating chocolate.

Ugh, I am so dreading this if/when I ever go of BC. I hope it gets better soon for you!

I have heard from my mom and FMIL that it gets better after pregnancy. I’m hoping that happens because I’ve been on BC for 11 years because of the horrific cramps I get!!

LOL. It DOES kinda suck to be a girl. I’ve had an IUD forever and some periods are easy-peasy and sometimes it’s mega-Midol and donuts. Sitting here due for a visit myself and for some reason I had the worst pre-period breakout. Pizza face supreme. And yesterday I noticed that I was bloated to the size of a four-month pregnancy. Ugh! Staying home with ice cream today:)

at least you got your period! A few summers ago I went off BC and didnt’ get my period for THREE MONTHS. I took SIX pregnancy tests and refused to have sex. I was really fun…

It’ll get better…try to get some exercise, it actually makes cramps better (even just a walk!) and eat some good fats (avocado, natural peanut butter), they make me feel better when I’m super crampy. Ugh, it’s noooo fun 🙁

Yep. My first few after I got off BC were horrendous. It’s the hormones leveling back out. They get better eventually.

I gained 15 lbs when I went off birth control for a month. Ick.
